Arrived here in 4/16 to find it closed until 6/2022? They should update the information. I did have a positive experience in the past and maybe come back when they reopen.

I'm not sure how I haven't left a review yet for China Village i've literally been eating here for over 20 years. Over those years i've had dim sum at various establishments including Koi Palace, Mayflower, ABC Seafood, Palette, Zen Peninsula, and Asian Pearl. While this may not be the fanciest/flashiest option this has the best handmade dim sum with no frills. True to flavor, taste, and recipe for your weekly dim sum outings. They still use carts here! This is my favorite part of dim sum instantly getting food once the cart swings by your table and getting to choose the freshly steamed dishes that you can devour immediately. Siu mai, har gow, wrapped sticky rice, daikon cake, chicken feet - you can't go wrong with any of the choices. I've seen the same faces working here for years, it's nice to see that hasn't changed even with the pandemic. Coming back to a familiar place where I don't have to struggle to navigate the menu or ordering process is comforting. My parents went today and informed me that it's their last day of operation. I'll be sad to see this place go!

Review for China Village - 2022-03-21 BE AWARE, RUDE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!!!!!!! I have been to China Village for almost 20 years (or since it opened). The phone conversations were usually pretty direct while mostly keeping a polite and professional tone. Today, I called to confirm my mom's birthday booking this weekend. To my surprise, I was treated with rudeness in the most unprofessional way ~ they hung up on me TWO TIMES. Let me repeat, the owner and a female associate HUNG UP MY CALLS TWO TIMES. When I called to confirm my reservation for my mom's birthday, I inquired if the corner table I reserved is quiet and if they have a private room. To book a private room, a female associate said, the minimal expense is $1,000. I asked if the room is empty when we arrive if it's ok to take it? The female associate started sneering, mocking me and said, "You don't want to pay for the room how can you expect us to give it to you?" I responded it's just a question as I wanted to learn more about how your private room works. Then she continued in a very disrespectful tone, "How can you ask that question? Who would let you use the room if you don't pay $1,000?" Again, I explained I didn't really know the room booking policy as every place is different that's why I asked. The female associate then concluded, "We won't meet your needs I will cancel your reservation." Then she hung up. Wow, I was stunned, couldn't believe they just canceled my reservation and hung up because I asked two questions they didn't like or care to answer? Well, I didn't give up as I thought maybe it's just a new associate that needed training so I called again. This time it's the male's voice answering the call. I asked to talk to the manager. He said he is the owner. I asked, "Can you keep my reservation, please?" He said "No, I won't keep your reservation. You can come if we have the table when you arrive. But no reservation for you." And he hung up. Wow, I was shocked in disbelief. I can't believe the owner I knew for the last 20 years is now rude and unprofessional. Not sure if it's the same owner I spoke. Overall, it was such a horrible horrible experience. I immediately called another Dim Sum place in the area and asked the same questions. This well known new Dim Sum place responded my questions with details and explained their policy of private rooms and table arrangement in a very pleasant and cheerful attitude. No mocking, no sneering, no hanging up, no rudeness, no disrespect. Pure joy, wow, heaven vs. hell. I don't usually I leave feedback but I wanted to inform those who expect good customer services to know the value of the owner at China Village before you decide to go. I value good customer service and I believe in treating people with respect is the way to run business and win customers. China Village failed to do that, unfortunately. My family and friends will not come back.

This place use to be my family and friends favorite dim sum place . However the recent dinning experience was below the average. One dim sum dish was cold in the middle We weren't greeted with warm welcome instead the server looks annoying that we show up 40mins before closing.

Pretty solid dim sum joint with dim sum cart ladies, decent selection and portions. We came here with a party of 7 on a Sunday at around 1pm and there was no wait. Restaurant was decently sized, lots of parking outside. You know it's a good no frills Asian place when you see that live seafood in the tank This is not your place for fusion food, so adjust expectations accordingly.

For Chinese New Year, we came for dinner around 5pm. The crowd wasn't there but the food was good and the service was outstanding. We ordered Peking duck which was freshly prepared and hot, open faced fish, Chinese brocoli, peppered steak, seafood fried rice and more. Unfortunately, I snapped the picture after we started eating but I'll show you the leftovers. Overall, the service is wonderful.

Ordered togo two orders of shiu mai and har gow each for total $28. Opened carton in car. Shiu mai cold and har gow so over cooked you wouldn't know it was shrimp. Immediately took it back and demanded my money back. Got it but no apologies. Won't be going back ever.

I have been here many times for lunch and mostly dim sum, it has always been good. I love their baked bbq buns the best!. I find it can be pricey, but it's tasty.

It was our friend's 50th birthday and we ate here for the first time. The place looks so small from the front and you can't enter from the front entrance. Im not really sure why they do that. This is I think because of the pandemic? You have to park in the back and there's actually lots of parking then enter thru the back door and you'll pass by the kitchen and restrooms. Not a great sight to see when you pass by though. Im not saying it's dirty or a mess but it is just an eyesore for me considering their place is supposed to be on higher end of a restaurant and prices are on the expensive side. There's 11 of us and we spent $450 and we just ordered mostly dimsum. I think there's only 3 items that we ordered as ala carte. In fairness, food are really good and staff were pleasant.

Great food and service and good value for the money. We had lunch there and also banquet style family meal and both were good.

Hardly understood servers. Had attitude, rolling eyes, their body language said it all. Lobster w/noodles, terrible, chow mein ,(what the hell was that). Outrageous prices. Dim Sum was good. I think they over priced usDefinitely don't recommend it.

It's definitely not the BEST dimsum around, but it is convenient and if you go at the right time (before the lunch rush) you don't have to wait to be seated, and the dimsum comes to you right away. Dimsum from the carts are always hot and taste pretty fresh, but the ones from the trays are usually older dishes they try to pawn off on you... but if they're not doing that to your table, are you REALLY at an authentic dimsum place???? We are usually in and out ~30 minutes. They're a little pricier than SF takeout places, but we pay for the convenience I guess. We can always rely on China Village for decent dimsum and speedy service.

China Village isn't the best dimsum place I've been to, but it also isn't the worst! They have a great variety of dimsum, my favorites being the sticky rice and shrimp dumplings and har gow. They have a wide selection of a la carte items to order, as well. My family always gets the Westlake beef soup - (beef and egg drop soup - IYKYK), salted fish and chicken fried rice, chow fun noodles or their pan fried noodles. The last time I went (which was November 2021), all of their items were cooked to perfection and tasted just like they always have. I'm so happy they were able to stay open during the pandemic; the food is great, and I recognized some of their former wait staff. As of November 2021, they were back to going around with dim sum carts. Yay to dimsum brunch!

This place has good food that's fresh, but watch out, it'll cost ya. I don't know why we were surprised at how fresh the food was considering when we showed up they only had one table. When arriving they have an entrance to their parking lot which is in the back of the building. It's small for the size of their space but since now one was there, there were lots of openings. The space itself is a traditional large dining hall with lots of tables. Dingy and dull but looks fairly clean. As for the food, we got: Har gow. We were surprised to get Two shrimp per dumpling. Definitely not the norm. We also got the shu mai. Not super large in size, but tasted good. Chinese broccoli was cooked perfectly but it's this tiny container for $11. Not worth it. Char sui baos we're tiny and had very little bbq pork in them. The little they had didn't have any flavor... like they needed salt to it. Finally the hom sui gok (football meat thingy lol) was really good. Had a nice crunch on the outside from frying, but super moist, mochi-like texture inside, and good meat ratio. Overall, mostly good but expensive.
