Love, love, love this place. There is quite a delicious variety of both sweet and savory baked goods. The pizza is just wonderful. One great draw for me is that they use flour imported from Italy, which has a much more tolerable gluten profile. And oh yeah—let’s not forget the delightful espresso.
Words cannot express how much we love La Placa! Hands down the best pastries and cakes in Santa Cruz County and greater Bay Area. And the best gelato on the Western Seaboard!
The staff is warm and friendly, the coffee and pizza are great. If you want to spend time in a corner of Italy in the middle of a Redwood forest, the is no better place!

One stop shop! Ran by a heritage Italian family, great and friendly service from 7 am to 8 pm. From having $3 coffee in the morning to homemade pizza for dinner (also lovely pastries) they just don’t miss. Consistency like this is hard to come by nowadays in the food industry but to these folks it’s a standard. Well done !
