Best Burgers in Benicia! Friendly service, and a great add on when enjoying a drink at Cullen's

Good food and service. The price is bit on the high end but as long as you expect it the sticker shock won't ruin the experience. I like the burgers and the sides. The hot dogs are a bit too small but they taste ok. Overall, I recommend giving them a shot, I suspect you'll enjoy.

Definitely my favorite place for Chicago style hotdogs and hamburgers in Solano County. The polish with grilled onions is the best and you can take it into Cullen's Pub next door so you can have it with a beer on-tap. Seating both inside and outside with plenty of free parking on the streets of downtown Benicia. Don't forget the french fries.

The best!! Everyone lives Char's. Great people. Only the best served. Our office is across the street and we eat there when hot dogs are wanted. They have so many finds of toppings plus other items on the menu. Let's meet at Char's!!

Came here after checking out the dog festival. The cheeseburger was decent. The 2 star is because when I asked for lettuce, onion and tomato, the lady behind the counter making the burgers used her bare hands to put said lettuce, tomato and onion in the container. Very unsanitary.

Not wanting to be negative but Char's has gone down hill for at least 4 years now. The staff is always changing and seems like I have encountered bad attitudes from at least 2 or 3 on occasion. Rude, bad vibes, like they hate their job. As far as food, I always have liked the hot dog with all condiments. The buns have changed, soggy, less tomatoes, smaller dogs and buns. Use to be great people, an older gal that I think bought from Charlene within the last 10 years was super happy and friendly! Benicia has been evolving and it is very hard to keep a business open there....business' fail within a few years there. I feel a good positive note for Chars is to up grade to the quality she had years ago, staff is very important, even if she needs to increase prices $1 per item with the growing economy in Benicia and everywhere. It just feels like it isn't a Mom & Pop little hole in the wall place anymore.

Small hole in the wall hot dog spot off in downtown Benicia. Ordered the California Coney. And so good! When you think of jalapeño you don't think it's that spicy, but their's had a nice kick to it! Loved the chili! Would not mind ordering a side of the chili just to eat by itself! all together, great hot dog and would for sure order it again!

I do love Chars Bacon Cheeseburgers We always call and order to pick up. The device is fast the food is always warm and cooked perfectly. They also have a vegan burger The basket of fries are HUGE! They have seating inside tables with chairs pretty basic but it's a small shop.

Had my first negative experience tonight. We regularly attend the Farmers Market and stop in at Char's. The owners have always been friendly and the young man who usually works the register has always been nice, professional, and efficient. Unfortunately the young girl who was there tonight needs to learn some manners and receive some lessons in good customer service. There were 3 people standing around talking with her and clearly not in a line. One had ordered and I assumed the other two had as well but JUST in case I asked each person not once but twice if they had ordered. One had, one did not respond, and the third gentlemen told me to go ahead of them. When I approached the counter this entitled teen proceeded to reprimand me and point out each of the other customers and the order in which they had stood in the line which no longer existed. I told her that I had asked each person, once again, not once but twice if they had ordered. I left and won't be back if she is working. So, after that novel the bottom line is customer service is everything; to me at least, and this girl needs to learn some.
