Grabbed a special croissant without the bacon before an exam. I couldn’t even finish it all before because it was so big. The flavors, ingredients, and portions were fantastic.

The croissant was flaky and soft. Everything inside it was delicious. I’m not a fan of arugula so I always love when I’m able to eat and enjoy it in ways I’ve never tried :)

Got a chicken empanada and a pecan swirl. As Prue Leith from GBBO would say, “worth all the calories.” The empanada was properly seasoned, doesn’t feel heavy. Perfect for breakfast. The star of the show is the pecan swirl, however. The best flaky, buttery pastry I had so far. Perfect level of sweetness. I should’ve taken Abe’s suggestion to have some coffee or tea. Definitely trying, the next time. :) Going to Abe’s in the morning is definitely going to set your mood...

Don't let the no frills atmosphere fool you; Abe's is amazing. The coffee and service was fantastic. Also, do yourself a favor and get more than one empanada and enjoy the flavor and salsa. Prices were reasonable by Berkeley standards.
