Have I tried coffee every single coffee establishment on college avenue between Hudson and Ashby? Yes. Does this one have the best coffee and the most consistently reliable and pleasant baristas? Yes. I Hope they never fix the Wi-Fi. There are people actually having conversations here.

One of my friend suggested this place and recommended to try Matcha Latte. Man it was so good. Also the barista at front, Pasang was very professional and down to earth. Will definitely come back next time.

This is my third time at Cafenated — I don’t know why I keep coming back expecting it to be better. The coffee is serviceable — but there’s so much better coffee in Berkeley that it just feels ridiculous paying premium prices for something so mediocre in comparison. But the biggest offender here is the food. This is Berkeley. Why are you serving me a translucent, unsalted tomato on an open faced bagel sandwich? Who is impressed by this oddly showy presentation when the food being displayed is so lackluster? And when I’ve ordered the salads, the issue has been similar. Bland. Clearly low grade Sysco food covered in sugary dressing.
Why is this such a popular Berkeley establishment? Why is it so expensive when other places that clearly use fresh local produce are cheaper? Poppy Bagels open faced classic sandwich makes this look like 15th century peasant food. And it’s two dollars cheaper!
Ultimately, it’s just disappointment. Both Cafenated locations in Berkeley are taking up beautiful real estate, and I wish we had higher standards.

Large, spacious coffee shop on College Ave. I’ve been here twice, and it was packed both days, even on a holiday.
Unfortunately, the Wi-Fi didn’t work at all. I came in hoping to do some work on my laptop, but had to leave to another coffee shop for internet.
Coffee is decent. Haven’t tried the food.
Lots of tables, counter seats, communal table seats, sofa seats (a little awkward if you want to do some work.)
It’d be 4 stars if their internet worked.

Great work from home place with excellent coffee. But they really need to fix the WiFi. It’ll time out randomly and lock you for 12 hours. I would go here 2-3 a week to work remotely if I didn’t think the WiFi was so unreliable. Please fix this, the place would otherwise get 5 stars from me
