There’s is only one worker at the restaurant. He acts as the server and the cook. He’s got a very bad attitude. I asked him to cook me fried rice and he said it’s too much effort to do so. So he ended up serving white rice instead. Food is alright overall but feels unclean. I got a stomache right after eating at his restaurant.

I have to say it is one of the best crispy fried pork with sauce(溜肉段) I tried. I don’t mind the service. The owner is a interesting guy. I first asked if it is (authentic) north-eastern cuisine, because the owner is speaking southern accent. The owner is super impatient and asked me to the name of the restaurant. He also keeps complaining he is too tired. Anyway, would definitely come again.

Food was delicious, staff was unseen, and the ambiance was banquet-friendly.Vegetarian options: Plenty of choices - but likely requires asking when ordering (and stating any restrictions/concerns)...Parking: Parking available on the same block during "off-hours" (i.e. during holidays & when university classes aren't in session) and also via a parking garage about one block away.

TL;DR eccentric owner, great food.The restaurant is on the second floor. Because of the low footfall you might be mistaken that it's closed because the owner turns the lights off.The owner is the sort of character that comes in mind when you think of an Asian dad. He runs the whole restaurant alone and his service can come off as rude, but I don't think he's actually trying to be rude.The food is quite authentic, it's a great low key place if you can order in chinese/cantonese.

Very unassuming hole in the wall with authentic Northern Chinese cuisine. Don't let the 1 man show scare you - everything we ate was hot and tasty. The braised pork glass noodles brought much nostalgia - needless to say I was happy. You could taste the ginger in the dumpling fillings as well as the shrimp in the chive pancakes. Yum. Seasoned well, no complaints. Would get the glass noodles again for sure.

The owner is very busy but friendly. He is a bit silent but he is very hardworking. Visited just now for the first time and the food is amazing. He need to do all the stuff by himself so prepare you might need to wait a bit

I think you either perceive it as a big ego that is hard to digest or the pride that comes with a craftsman's spirit.In any case, I have to say the food is simply consistently amazing. I have been to this place for many times over the past ~5 years. It has arguably the best northeastern chinese food in the east bay. If you don't like the service and want to rate 0 star, the food is worth 10 stars. So, it's 5 stars on average.
