Honestly this place has really disappointed me. I used to LOVE coming - the atmosphere was good, music was fun, and the food/drinks were decent. The last few times I’ve come in the past year have been overall not great. The food and drinks are SO EXPENSIVE. A (mid tasting) drink will run you at least 8-9$ no modifications, which is more expensive than a normal coffee shop, and the pastries? SOOOO expensive for the tiniest stale pastries. Literally the size of my palm, dried out, and not much flavor for 8-10$ not to mention the autopopulated 30% tip that adds more to the price. Even fancy artisan pastry shops don’t overcharge this much and their food is larger portions and tastier. I swear they don’t list the price obviously so we order the food and don’t realize the cost till it’s charged. A regular coffee and pastry shouldn’t run you more than 15$ max, here it’ll run you a minimum for 20$, I’d rather go buy a whole meal somewhere else.
The atmosphere is cold and barren. The decor has not been taken care for, the couches have a weird moldy smell to them (and splattered w paint?) and the floor is always sticky for some reason. Two visits ago the person working turned half the lights off at 8pm (well before they closed) and turned the music off, my friend and I who were the only people there took it as a sign to leave.
I LOVE Yemeni cafes, and delah was one of my favorites in the bay (I was so excited when this one opened, I used to go to the sf one all the time), I’m just so disappointed by it now I don’t think I’ll be coming back anymore.

Great atmosphere, warm environment and ample space. If you’re in the area and need some time to pass, this is the place. The staff are friendly and have good recommendations.

I’m a gay Arab, and the barista today decided not to provide me service while the store was open. He came up with an excuse saying it’ll take him some time before he can take my order but he didn’t explain why and no one else was in line. I grew up around this kind of homophobia but surprised to see it in Berkeley.
There’s only ever one person on staff and I’ve never gotten the sense that person knows much about making coffee. The espresso is fine but the drinks themselves are sort of haphazardly thrown together. As for the atmosphere, many students enjoy studying here for long periods of time and there’s enough comfortable seating to accommodate that. However, the trash is regularly overflowing and every time I’ve been here the bathroom is mysteriously “out of service.” This spot is probably your best option for coffee on Euclid, but better spots abound in nearby Downtown Berkeley and Telegraph. Given that my drink was already $8.50 without modifications, the pre-set 30% tip on the card terminal also just added insult to injury.

Went here for the first time and I think it was pretty good! I’m not a big pastry person but I liked what they had.

Got a coffee, honey bread and a spinach pastry and everything was bad. The coffee was watery but still okay. What was really bad was honey bread and spinach pastry. The honey bread smelled so off and tasted bad, almost as if it went bad. The spinach was inedible and smelled horrific. I went up to the girl and returned the bread and she did not even bother to give me a refund or anything. Extremely disrespectful and the food quality has gone down badly.

Hours incorrect. Showed up at 9:30am and they were closed
As someone else stated, very dishonest. I got a coffee and the person at the registry selected to tip himself 30% without letting me choose the option to tip. At first I thought that it was a misunderstanding, that I didn’t see well and let it slide. After this, like 30 minutes, purchased some desert and he did the exact same thing. When I brought this up he started saying irrelevant things like “we didn’t have a good day today” or “I got you next time”. I asked how is that relevant but no clear answer. Shady to the very least. And he works the iPad so fast to not let you see the tip scam so definitely that’s been happening systematically, surprised that more people don’t bring this up

Unacceptable conduct, the guy at the till will routinely select 30% tip without giving you time to react. When challenged he will say ‘we didn’t sell a lot of things today’.

The Yemeni coffee was really good. The pastry was stale and underwhelming. I’d say all items are overpriced. You guys need to step up your pastry game, I was disappointed. $7 for a stale piece of baked dough. “The cheese” inside was all dried up. We sat by the window and it’s great to people watch.

Best coffee I’ve ever had! The Yemeni coffee was expertly crafted and just the right amount of spice and sweetness. Will be back!

Cashier forced us to pay 30% tip, clicked the tip screen for us, ridiculous. Do not go here to get scammed.
