There’s only ever one person on staff and I’ve never gotten the sense that person knows much about making coffee. The espresso is fine but the drinks themselves are sort of haphazardly thrown together. As for the atmosphere, many students enjoy studying here for long periods of time and there’s enough comfortable seating to accommodate that. The Yemeni coffee was really good. The pastry was stale and underwhelming. I’d say all items are overpriced. You guys need to step up your pastry game, I was disappointed. $7 for a stale piece of baked dough. “The cheese” inside was all dried up. We sat by the window and it’s great to people watch.
A cafe tucked up north of Berkeley with delicious drinks, but the downside is that it's pretty pricey.
I got their iced chai latte, and although it was good, I'm not sure if it was worth $8.They do have good seating, though, with WiFi, and are open until pretty late, making it a perfect study spot for a lot of students.
