“Amazing service from a place that actually cares about its workers and the food is delicious …got my coworkers hooked on their pastries and empanadas hehe …good veggie options … a very good assortment of teas… this place is a little hidden being back off the street, but it’s well worth the hunt and once you’ve found it you’ll be glad you did there’s a little private sitting area in front of the shop that’s surprisingly quiet for the area a perfect stop for lunch“

“We tried each of the three vegan options - soyrizo, zucchini, and mushroom medley. They were all fantastic, tasted just like I remember from Buenos Aires 🤩. I meant to take a pic but then we ate them too fast. The chimichurri was also great and the mate 🧉 latte was tasty. I made sure to leave a review since there haven't been any in a couple years. It's still here, still serving vegan empanadas, and still great!“

“Small shop with some seating inside and out (weather permitting). Nice variety of empanada flavors to choose from. Each one is baked with a crispy, flaky crust and a good portion of filling inside. They also sell frozen packages to take and bake.“
“Fantastic fresh empanadas. Great for a simple snack or buy a few and have a meal. Not inexpensive, but well worth the price. Service is fast and friendly. Don't be put off by a long line. The ambiance is that of a crowded ferry building marketplace. There is nowhere to sit and eat unless you go outside and find a spot on the curb.“

“I came here before heading to the Caltrain station. There isn’t as much food around this area as I was guessing but Cafe Buenos Aires was a real gem.
It’s a pretty small space, with seating for maybe 10-15 people total including chairs outside. The staff working seem to have a number of regulars, as while I was there (for about an hour), multiple people came in and chatted with them, which was nice to see!
They have a pretty expansive menu of empanadas, with lots of veggie options and a good selection of vegan options. You order at the front and they heat them for you before serving — it took about 5 minutes to get my order after ordering.
The empanadas themselves were amazing. I ordered a Humita and a Nopales empanada. Both were delicious, and the Humita was a type I’ve never had before. Next time I’m in SF, I’ll come back to try more of them!!“

“I was very excited because I went on Tuesday and the girl was very kind and her service was nice and the food was very delicious, and today I went back again but the owner of the place is a little rude and unfriendly: but the taste of the food is delicious“

“I recently discovered how much I love Empanadas within the last few years, so I was really stoked when they opened this location. They used to partner with another bakery next-door to the Y in downtown Oakland, so it was really nice to see this spot close by. The chicken empanadas are always my go to, but the Fugazzeta (cheese and onion ) has grown to be my favorite item on the menu! the staff are very friendly and help you figure out what’s for you if you’ve never been or are undecided on what to get. ( and if you have a sweet tooth, they tend to have Alfajores & sweet Empanadas sale as well! )Only downside is that there isn’t much indoor seating which could be a problem if it’s colder out, but this is minor in my opinion. Definitely worth trying if you want some good authentic Argentinian food.
Vegetarian options: they offer great options for both meat, lovers and vegetarians!“

“Excellent empanadas. You cannot go wrong. They are all amazing. Alfajores are also fantastic but they are Peruvian style (because in general Argentinian alfajores are not that good).
If you are at the ferry building and want something really good and easy, this is one of the best places.“

“Everything was wonderful. I had the cheese and loroco pupusa and a fried squash dish whose name I can’t remember. It was recommended by my Salvadoran nephew. He also loved everything. Others took home pastries for later.“
“This little gem is located inside Ferry Building Marketplace. It’s is one of the few places open early in the morning to get food. The woman working was friendly. We had no wait. I ate the Fugazzeta Empanada… it literally melted in my mouth. It was the best empanada I have ever had. The price seemed high for just one, but the taste made it worth it!“
“This is a newer bakery in the area. It has a small parking lot. The inside has always been clean and the bread always looks and tastes fresh in addition to very neatly presented. My parents like it as well. The service has always been delivered with a smile. As far as the foods, I've only tried the tamales and they were good. The pudin is my favorite bakery item. 😋“
“Great empanadas!! It’s an awesome breakfast treat!“

“What a delightful place to stop and grab a delicious empanada or a boba drink. I just love the chicken adobo empanadas. The pastry is fresh, flaky, and crispy. The lightly spicy chicken and potato filling is tender and savory. So good. Be sure and try the house-made sweet chili sauce as well. For dessert, try the mango cheese cake empanada. It is tangy, fruity, rich with cream cheese and topped with a sugar-glazed crust. The prices are very affordable too!“
