Well, went to both FAs today with my heart set on corned beef hash and eggs. The Berkeley shop is now bakery only. Went to the El Cerrito one and the menu had drastically changed. No corned beef eggs and hash. So if you're looking for traditional meat your breakfast.... You've been warned
Nostalgia, for me. Forty years ago, when I moved here, I lived around the corner. Loved the food and coffee (Peet's) and the buzzy atmosphere. So Berkeley. When I'm back in the neighborhood, I try to stop by for a good meal. Even after 30 years my son gets over the moon excited when I bring him a cheese puff. Also dropped off their out of this world pie to a family member battling cancer recovery. Everyone gets excited about their baked goods; however their meals are...
Long time customer. Ordered bacon and cheese quiche to eat in and a chicken turnover to take home. Both were excellent. Also my standard a blueberry Danish and their dark roast coffee. Just wish they would return some of the savory baked goods from the past like mustard laced cheese sticks and cheese scones.
