The freshroll sandwich with chicken is my favorite lunch item in Berkeley. So flavorful and the service is always super quick. MUST try spot imo…

We really enjoyed the food, wouldn't eat it as a weekend treat but found it hearty and healthy. Things we would definitely order again:Spicy pork with rice: although the broccolini has some very tough stems and was not the most enjoyable, my partner felt it was tasty and nourishing. He ordered it with double pork but wouldn't double next time because the portion of meat is enough for a dinner. He liked the vinaigrette sauce, which is not spicy, both of us enjoyed it. He preferred pork to chicken. Chicken bowl: the chicken was generally tender although with some gristly pieces. It has a marinade that is quite sweet, and the meat is cut in long spearlike chunks that are much more than a mouthful, so eating it with a fork is awkward. I didn't like the sweetness of the peanut sauce and it had an unpleasant aftertaste for me, maybe the herbs? But overall would eat chicken bowl again.Tofu bowl:Great fried tofu with lovely taste and texture. I liked avocado as an addition in all the bowls. The citrusy sauce was pleasant although very tangy, not as good as the vinaigrette to my taste. I also tried the Nam Nam sauce, which tastes strongly of mayonnaise, has a little kick but not too spicy, and was great as a dressing on the greens. I left cucumber and pickled vegetables out of my bowl and regretted it because they are both really good, cucumber is in thin julienne strips and pickled vegetables were tasty (mostly carrot and radish I think). I also loved the added omelet. Things we might not order again:The garlic noodles were a little sweet, not that exciting or craveable and tasted a little too much of raw garlic (we got them without the furikake topping, maybe they are better with furikake)The house FreshRoll was nothing very special, we preferred the bowls (to be fair though, we ate it the next day so maybe it's good when first made!)All in all a solid choice for healthy dinners.

freshroll? More like day-oldroll. I had to wait almost an hour for one entree and when I opened it it was completely the wrong order. I had to pay extra for a side of sauce as well which I never received.

Pretty good and convenient, but can't beat Koja kitchen right across the street (too bad koja has some weird hours)

My preliminary thoughts as I've only eaten from here once: Far from authentic, this Vietnamese inspired fast casual spot is quick, healthy-ish, and catered to college kids at college prices. If it's convenient, it's not a bad spot for a quick, somewhat inexpensive meal. However, I wouldn't necessarily go out of my way for it. We went with banh-mis, both the shrimp and pork variety. A forgettable roll filled with fresh crunchy vegetables and protein. I was more into the pork than the shrimp as it had a bit more flavor. But in the end, mostly due to the bread, I'd forgo the banh-mi next time and opt for the bowl. Everything was made quickly, they cut my sandwich in half as requested, but no napkins in those to go bags.

That Banhmi sandwich had so much flavor and was absolutely delicious

Very disappointing. Surprised it’s 4.7. The meat was mostly inedible - big chunks of fat and cartilage. I threw away about 80% of the meat. The rest was just a big bowl of rice, 2 small strings of brocollini and a bit of cabbage. Not worth $15.

I recently visited the restaurant Fresh Roll in Berkeley in hopes of fulfilling my craving for spring rolls along with a bánh mì sandwich, I normally order from "Sf's Fresh Roll". When I entered into the restaurant, I was greeted by swarming flies (4+) Immediately I came to realize that, no one working for this particular establishment spoke English. The workers were all Spanish speaking despite this being a Vietnamese inspired restaurant. NO ONE WORKING AT THIS LOCATION SPOKE ENGLISH!! Even with me trying to explain special instructions for my order the workers were unable to comprehend. There was an employee sitting down and one behind the counter neither acknowledged anything regarding taking my order they replied "NO ENGLISH" and continued socializing amongst themselves. Very frustrating, confusing and ridiculously poor managed. NO THANKS

A great place to stop by for a quick and tasty meal! While I wouldn't say it's hands down authentic Vietnamese cuisine, it's still pretty flavorful and similar to a lot of classics from their banh mi's to their spring rolls (which they call fresh rolls). One of my favorite deals here is their $10 combo which comes with taro chips, chicken bone broth, and a mini fresh roll sandwich. Really affordable and a great way to get a nice meal with multiple sides that fill you up. I've even come here just to pick up their taro chips for events because they're fresher than the ones you get in a store and aren't too expensive.I'm definitely considering catering from them in the future because they have a wide variety to choose from. Their pork is always my go-to protein and Namnam sauce is tasty as well. Service is quick because they use Snackpass so you can interface with that ordering system for ordering in advance, any item specifications, and rewards. It's a small joint that doesn't have a lot of seating, but it's clean, has cold water for customers, and fairly quickly service. A nice offering in the Berkeley community and one that students can visit often

The spring rolls and garlic noodles were mid and not worth the money for me, but the banh mi is definitely solid and a good (relatively) cheap/convenient meal
