i tried cafe hopping and this place really hit the spot! there is free wifi, but im not sure if there's any outlets so come with your devices fully charged. i ordered the matcha bliss which came out perfectly and quick. if you like your matchas sweet, then this is the place to go. the menus tell you what's in the drink too, so ur not left wondering what's in it. i would definitely come back here again to study! not too packed and quiet environment

Great Yemeni café right on University. Delicious mocha latte and milk cakes! Service was good and drinks made quickly. Bathroom could have been a bit cleaner, but wasn't terrible. Plenty of seating, from large tables for groups to smaller tables by the pick-up area. Open early to late with delicious drinks and dessert? Yes please! Definitely recommend a stop by!

"If you're seeking a café experience that transcends the everyday, then Heyma Coffee is your haven. Returning within the same week was inevitable to immerse again in the distinct ambiance, akin to a serene, decorative palace dedicated to coffee. The cuisine, the meticulously crafted coffees, transport you to an exotic locale. Erica stood out with her kindness, efficiency, and warm demeanor. And who says they'll be making another visit? 'That is correct,' as Chris Farley would say …

During a recent rainy day adventure, my family and I had the pleasure of discovering Heyma Yemeni Coffee, a delightful spot that immediately felt like a warm hug amidst the dreary weather. This cozy haven not only serves coffee but offers an authentic taste of Yemen through its unique and aromatic beverages. The standout for us was undoubtedly the Heyma Latte. Infused with the rich, warm flavors of cardamom and cinnamon, it was like a comforting embrace in a cup, perfectly complementing the cool, rainy atmosphere outside. The balance of spices was impeccable, creating a memorable flavor profile that left us eager for more. What truly set our experience apart was the inviting atmosphere of the café. Amidst the charming, welcoming décor, we found ourselves lingering for hours, playing games and enjoying quality family time.Heyma Yemeni Coffee isn’t just a place to grab a quick coffee; it’s a destination for those seeking a genuine connection and a moment of peace in their busy lives. Whether you’re a coffee aficionado or simply looking for a cozy spot to unwind, Heyma offers something special for everyone. I can wholeheartedly recommend this café to anyone in search of a truly remarkable coffee experience and a place to make beautiful memories, no matter the weather. We can’t wait for our next visit to Heyma Yemeni Coffee and to explore more of their delicious offerings! Next time I will have to try the Turkish coffee.

Really great (I wanna say) Arabic coffee shop located in Berkeley that sources and serves coffee from area where coffee started! In terms of the operation, it's pretty similar to other coffee places. You come in, you order from some friendly people, and you wait for your beverage. There are food items as well. Okay, so that's where the similarities end. This place is super unique, at least to me. The space makes it feel like I've been transported to an area in the world I haven't been, but only seen in movies/ shows. Looks like a great place to meet up and hang with people or another person. The food items looked and smelled wonderful. I ended up ordering a Heyma latte and a savory vegetable pastry. Both delicious, with the latte having a nice spice to it with the cardamom and cinnamon flavors. A perfect warm food/drink combo on a cold evening. I was in the area visiting and this place came up when I was looking up places I could get a pick me up since I was drinking at different beer spots earlier in the day. This place looked perfect and it was. I wish there were spots like this closer to me in LA. Maybe there is and I just haven't found it, but truly a Berkeley gem.

On a rain-drenched day, my family and I found sanctuary in the warm embrace of Heyma Yemeni Coffee, a gem that boasts an authentic taste of Yemen through its exceptional coffee offerings. Among their diverse menu, the Heyma Latte stands out--a masterpiece infused with the aromatic whispers of cardamom and cinnamon, crafting a cup that not only warms the hands but also the soul. The ambiance of Heyma Yemeni Coffee sets it apart. It's a place where the hustle of life fades into the background, allowing moments of togetherness to flourish. My family and I spent an hour enveloped in this cozy atmosphere, playing games we brought along and basking in the joy of each other's company. The staff's welcoming nature contributed to this memorable experience, making us feel at home away from home. I highly recommend the Heyma Latte for anyone looking to tantalize their taste buds with flavors that are both comforting and exotic. A visit to Heyma Yemeni Coffee is a journey worth taking, rain or shine. We're already looking forward to our next visit!

I discovered Heyma Coffee on Instagram and was dying to try it out. I drove all the way from Sac just to try it , I can say it was totally worth it! The owner was super nice, and the Heyma latte I ordered was the best I've ever had. I definitely recommend it, but be warned....it gets really busy!

Just gonna sit here and cry till the cafe partners up with a delivery service. Btw I ended up dropping by on the way back from a doc appointment, got 3 drinks and finished them the same day...it's not a phase, it's an addiction.

Heyma is one of Berkeley's best coffeehouses, hands down (As seen on their wall: Yemen being the birthplace of coffee, I would expect no less ;-) ). The setting is cozy and clean, staff are beyond kind and friendly. HEYMA LATTE (iced, oat milk): The house favorite, apparently. While I'm not a cinnamon person, this is delightful. Aromatic from the first sip~ Thought this was a nice floral, refreshing blend. CHEESE MANAKEESH: After my bf raved about it, I had to get a bite in-- super toasty, savory cheese bread. If I hadn't already eaten earlier, I would've loved to try their milk cake...! Will have to be back.

This joint is known for its delicious coffee. Yes, everyone comes here for the coffee because its sooo much better than Peets. But I'm here to recommend coming here for the snacks. They have so many delicious little desserts to snack on. I'm not sure if they make them in house or if they outsource the baking, but everything is always fresh and delicious. The most popular drink here seems to be the Heyma Latte. My friend got it with almond milk. The presentation was fantastic and my friend raved about it. I usually get the Strawberry Banana Smoothie. They make it fresh and only use fresh ingredients. Its sooooo filling. Its like a meal. You'll walk away full after drinking one of those puppies. Thanks Heyma!

I'm so happy to have this place. Yemeni and Turkish coffee is not for everyone so good thing they have regular coffee, lattes, etc. but for me there's nothing better than a great Yemen or Turkish coffee or tea. Staff is very friendly, always serves with a smile. Also, pastries and Baklava is delicious! Great seating and decor as well.
