I trust that this iconic Cafe will make a full comeback shortly. They have just reopened after a stint and it seems working a few bugs out. I have every faith that they will be just fine. You will not be disappointed at the food .

The food here is delicious if you can be patient. I’ve mentioned to the owner for years about creating reservations but he insists on first come first serve. Not ideal but if you’re in the neighborhood and don’t mind a wait it’s worth it

It was a bit of a walk from Downtown Berkeley to this cafe, but so worth it! Very small, only a few tables, but nicely busy. Amazing food....the brisket hash was phenomenal. They are "ethical" in that they apply a service charge to pay staff a living wage, and also support the homeless community....that sort of place that I had expected to find in Berkeley but hadn't seen until now. The clientele seemed to be mainly locals, as this is not close to anything like...
