We found the perfect Valentine’s Day date @Little Plearn Thai but honestly? Delicious all year round 🔥

Little Plearn Thai has been on our list since last year since we love festive restaurants, but what really impressed us is that the food is just as good as how pretty the space is ✨😍

What we ordered: Fresh Spring Rolls, Curry Puff, Pad Thai (SO fresh best Pad Thai I’ve had in the Bay, no debate), Panang Nua, Basil pork, Thai Yaki Soba, Duck Over Rice, Moo Dang & Crispy Pork Over Rice. They also have a limited Valentine’s drink menu 👌

We can taste how fresh everything is. Hearing the story behind the restaurant made it even more special 🥹 The owner’s grandmother started the business and STILL personally picks the fresh ingredients at the store. That kind of care shows in every bite.

My roommate found glass in our food, and the restaurant was super casual about it and still made us pay.

I am concerned about cleanliness, table was not completely clean, service was slow, pricing bit high but i guess okay for collage town Berkeley, owner appears to be very stingy, want to charge for every little thing i.e. Fresh Rolls are expensive and still does not include peanut sauce, I have never heard anywhere else restaurant charge for it. I would advise to go with caution.

Decent Thai food with vegan options. Nothing to write home about. Red curry wasn’t very flavorful. Cute space but a little cramped. Not sure why Imm Thai always has a line but Little Plearn does not–they’re similarly good if you ask me. 🍛

We enjoyed it two months ago. The tom yum is tomato sauce and water now, with nearly raw carrots in it. The green curry had the same problem with the green beans. The service was also sub par, with a rude server. I used to serve in a restaurant and I feel terrible for writing this. You may enjoy it but I won’t take my girl out here anymore.

Great little place to eat thai food. Had the Panang Nua. Quite spicy, great taste and the beef was to die for.

Great atmosphere, great service. They refilled drinks fast and took care of us.

Food was so good! Took a bit to get the food but it was worth the wait. Large portions and great lunch specials.

Does this place normally ask DoorDash customers (not drivers) to show their DoorDash order on the app when picking up?

My wife placed an order and asked me to pick it up. I arrived about 10 minutes early, asked if the order for Christine B was ready, and was told it’d be about five minutes. When I came back, the staff member ( the one with big eyes ) asked who the order was for, and after I said Christine B, she asked to see the DoorDash confirmation. I explained that my wife had ordered it, so I didn’t have the app. She asked for the name again, then handed me the food.

I left wondering why I was asked to show the confirmation. If that’s standard policy, I completely understand. But if not, I can’t help but wonder if it had something to do with me being a Black man picking up an order under a woman’s name.
