Tunnel Tops had newly opened upon our visit on a Monday midday. Glorious views, wide paths, lawns, interesting garden bed plantings, children's play ground. There is even a fire pit! Visitor centre was interesting, nice souvenirs not over priced. There were families and overseas visitors there . A family soccer game on the lawn, children running around, mothers with prams. It didnt feel crowded but it is a big space and would accommodate a lot of people and activity. Worth the visit

The pandemic must have done a number on Lush. Used to be hands down the best gelato I've had in the US (one place in Greece was arguably a tad better). Last few times we've gone we noticed the quality has certainly gone downhill. No more is the texture creamy smooth and decadent. More like icy and hard like cheap ice cream. No more are the flavors intense and amazing. The rocky road was absolutely nothing special. The chocolate is far from the intensely thick and rich (probably more chocolate than cream) experience it used to be. So much for those super intense flavors from high amounts of quality ingredients. No more the huge variety. We went last week and they hardly had half the bins full. Used to be a big reason we even went to this area and now I don't think we'll go out of our way. :(

Lush's gelato is good and the staff are usually friendly enough. However, when we stopped by last weekend during the North Shattuck Chocolate and Chalk festival, we were met with a rude and brusque demeanor by the individual working that day. Despite there being no line, we were rushed to make a decision on our flavors and our questions were answered with curtness and annoyance. Maybe she was just having a bad day...Regardless, we left with just our gelato and decided to use our festival tickets to purchase chocolate elsewhere.

Came here on Labor Day, posted closing time was 7PM. We arrived around 6:35, and were met with a surly server who had put everything away and said she wouldn't serve us because she was "deep cleaning." Wha? Are opening hours random now? It was a special disappointment, because this is the one thing our son really wanted to do before leaving for college the next day. We loved Lush, but I'm not going to make the 20-walk anymore. Disappointed.

We came today and waited with a "back in 10 min" sign for over 30 minutes. There was quite a long line when we arrived of people who said they had been waiting even longer. This was very very disappointing, most of all for my 7 year old! While I hope the employee is ok, I felt like this should also be reported. (Tried to message privately to no avail.)

Friendly staff. Clean and cute place with reasonable pricing. I got the bourbon gelato with macadamia and chocolate. The texture very bumpy and it was melting abnormally fast even though I started to eat it right away. There was not a strong flavor of macadamia or bourbon. Very disappointing for gelato in little Italy.

Contacted on the website here and they said the SF one is not affiliated. Totally wrong website listed. Called left message no one ever called back.

Quality way down from usual unfortunately. Ice cream is all icy and 2/3 of the flavors are out. Worst of all the employee's mask was hanging down by his chin and he was breathing over our ice cream. Stay away until they get their act together again. This was not safe in times of COVID.

Oh my goodness! I'm usually a bigger fan of gelato than ice cream because it's less sweet since I'm not a big sweets person. I think this is my favorite gelato place now because it is super creamy and smooth. I LOVED the earl grey flavor. It was the perfect hint of sweetness and had a strong tea flavor which I liked a lot! I wanted to buy a pint of it when I was back in Berkeley at their other location, but they actually are out of stock. Whenever I'm in the north beach area, I'm definitely coming here to have another one of this and hopefully they will still have the Earl Grey pint available!

Was a disappointment. We saw the 4.5 star rating so were looking forward to visiting this place. Quality control was lacking. We ordered three scoops. Dark chocolate tasted fine but was barely cold enough to hold shape, was more like a soup. Earl Gray tea was full of ice crystals. The other scoop was fine, at least one of the three was. Probably going to the SF location is the way to go, give this location a miss.

Enjoy coming here for consistency of quality.Issue: came in today and server wasn't trained on how to use the system. She didn't know how to redeem points. I've been a long time fan and have points to spend. In her confusion she swung the ipad around to me and told me to pick what I want. In the past the server knew what to do. I did not know how to use the system. Instead of redeeming points for the pints, somehow points were redeemed for one pint but not the others. I don't live near by and there's no way to reach manager by phone or DM so I'm stuck with a poor experience.Looking at the receipt - I'm further confused. I got 4 pints and a single scoop. It looks like I was charged for 5 pints and then my points were applied toward correcting an erroneous 5th pint charge. It was hot, my pints were melting as she navigated the register and another customer arrived. I didn't realized what had happened until I got home. frustrated and bummed

Lush Gelato was delicious! There were so many awesome flavors from which to choose and they even had at least one vegan option (peanut butter gelato). We ate the gelato out on the adorable garden patio right next to Lush. My mom even claimed that the Mexican chocolate was the best she's had. 10/10 would eat here again!
