Masse's is run by the very lovely, hard-working married duo of Paul and Marcia Masse. Their bakery is the pinnacle of a locally-owned, community shop passionate about the quality of their incredibly artisan and extremely delicious work. Their chocolate croissants are the very best in Berkeley and my son loves every flavor of their macarons. Their cakes are mouthwateringly tasty, interesting and gorgeous to look at and to eat. The guava cheesecake is a family favorite.

I recommend this place if u like European vibes and fruit cakes. Staff is nice and helpful and cakes are fresh and tasty (not too sweet,definitely more close to European level of sweetness than American). As someone from Europe this tastes like home to me and I wouldn’t be embarrassed to buy it for my family. Two mini cakes were 17$.

The BEST pastry shop in the Bay! I have been coming here since they opened and it always satisfies. Hand made fresh pastries created every day, the shop is small and intimate, with indoor and outdoor seating, and you are surrounded by beautiful artwork and attentive staff. Who needs to go to that fancy pastry shop in Vienna when you can come here? Simply the best, hands down!
