I love this place. If you’re looking for the best seafood to buy this place is world class. Not only is it the freshest it’s the most sustainable you can get. They focus on trying to get local seafood, but everything you get is sustainable caught. Every local fish in season is for sale here and it’s all amazing quality. Come here you won’t be disappointed.
I have past by this fish market for years, but today I decided to try, and so happy I did. I purchased a whole king salmon $24 a pound/ the weighed approximately 11.4 pound. They not only scaled and steaked the fish, they did all of this without charging me extra. Wow! With this purchase, I also purchased rock fish ALL FRESH. Oh what took me so long.. I still to go to Tokyo Fish Market, especially for the hamachi kama and other asian goodies but Monterey is just fabulous for halibut and shellfish. The freshest!
