If you don't mind a bit of a wait for your coffee - the baristas are always quite busy chatting - this place is good for overheard gossip, shouted complaints about other staff, management, and customers, and commentary from the folks making the coffee on the various flaws of the people walking by.
If you want a nice, quiet drink, I recommend bringing noise canceling headphones or drinking it out in the cold. When it does arrive, the coffee is fine.

I love this store, and the employees are always so friendly. As long as you leave the store when they are closed, and don't raise your voice, which is pretty basic, the service is great. Coffee is really good here especially the peppermint mocha frappes. Definitely come to this location. Its the best one.

Terrible service. We went to the store to buy coffee, and my boyfriend was adding honey to his cup and stirring it when the staff suddenly asked him to leave because they were closing at 7:30. It was only 7:27. He tried to explain that it would only take a second and that we’d leave right after, but they immediately became rude and demanded we leave right away.
Things escalated when a staff member named Salem started yelling at us and threatened to call the police if we didn’t leave. This was completely unnecessary—we were clearly about to leave. Another staff member, John, also yelled at us to get out. Meanwhile, the shift leader, a blonde guy, just stood there watching his staff scream at us without doing anything to diffuse the situation.
We weren’t doing anything wrong, and it wouldn’t have hurt them to wait a minute for my boyfriend to finish stirring his tea. But instead of showing basic decency, Salem chose to threaten us with the police over something so minor.
This experience was unacceptable, and no one should ever be treated like this. Avoid this store at all costs.

The past 2 times I’ve gone, I’ve ordered the horchata cold brew oat latte and it’s tasted gross every time. The coffee tastes very burnt and I’ve had to throw out each drink, mind you I order 2 of the lattes each time and for both of them to be so nasty that they’re undrinkable is really concerning. I’ve ordered this at 2 other Peet’s locations and had no complaints about the flavor, it’s only this location. I will not be back :(

I just wanted a little bit more of water in my americano because it was way too short like 3/4s. I always try to be mindful because this place gets hectic but it wasn’t bad. This latina curly haired woman stood at the second register and I went up to her because I was second in line. Before I opened my mouth she said very condescendingly “get back there’s a line you know”. Followed by rude service and such an attitude pouring my drink down the drain and having them redo it. What the heck I just wanted it topped with water.

I’m so thrilled to see Peet’s on Fourth St is unionizing!!! So proud of you all!!! I worked on 4th street years ago and frequented this Peet’s often. I still remember how sweet and hardworking every single staff member was. They worked their tails off and until you work in food service/retail you really have no idea what these folks go through day to day. Workers united!! Love you all!!

I needed a discreet location where I could quick change into my disguise without being caught, and hide without being recognized.
And then I thought, “Where can I find the largest gathering of uninteresting, and the most forgettable people?”
And there it was… the Peet’s coffee on 4th street. Surely anyone here writing long form metaphorical plays about climate change on a MacBook Air wouldn’t catch any suspicion. Let alone warrant attention from the Russian spies chasing me down.
It was in the all-gender restroom where I was able to quickly change into my cardigan, Uniqlo khakis, and doc martens— even hid my comms device in an android otterbox case. I was one of them… a Peet’s customer.
I sat and waited till I overheard one of my pursuers yell out, “он не может быть здесь. жизнь высосется из него в считанные секунды!” as they ran to the Starbucks across the street.

Bought $150 in coffee in a 5 gallon container from them and it leaked coffee all over my car. I had to spend the day shampooing the car professionally and missed half the event I bought the coffee for.

I would like to preface that we thoroughly enjoy peetes. unfortunately, this last morning, we were the only patrons in the store this morning as we were stopping by to grab coffee. this is not our usual store and we're disappointed when we left and saw that we only had partial part of our food order. please make sure to check your orders before leaving as "refunds are unavailable and not worth it" for small food items that are truthfully overpriced to begin with.
