Penelope's Coffee and Tea

Rock solid, strong regular black brewed coffee! They have pour overs available but have dark and medium roast brewed and ready to go and they were both good. Breakfast was good but the 5 stars are for the coffee!

The menu does not list all the ingredients. I got things I did not ask for in the food& tea. When I brought it to the ladies attention she was bothered & dismissive. I had to point to the menu & show her the ingredients listed. They also got my order wrong twice. The veggie womlette was dry & the crossiants were too & cold. This was at 9a.

Great all around Coffee Shop. Not large corporation like Starbucks or Peet's. They treat customers really nice. Love it.

penelope’s is quite a nice establishment. i ordered the spinach womelette and it was a pretty tasty brunch meal, but a little dry compared to a regular omelette. it feels strange to me that it comes with sour cream. is that a normal thing to put on eggs? or on waffles? also got the rose matcha and it was too sweet for my taste despite asking for less sweet. it’s a pretty typical coffee shop matcha latte, but not bad!! the environment is lovely and very spacious

Got me a sugar free hazelnut latte. It was divine. Good vibes, nice and bright colors, and very friendly/helpful staff.

Went for their valentine's special and we got a rose matcha and a free latte, along with their roast beef panini. Neither of us liked our drinks. The matcha was way too sweet and the latte was super watered down. The panini was okay but not worth the money. They also didn't know their own special promo and thought we had to get two promo drinks for the promotion to count but it had said to get one rose drink and get any other drink free. The location and interior are nice though.

My experience at Penelope’s in Berkeley was truly amazing! The diverse offerings of Roasts and Lattes stood out, creating a unique and vibrant atmosphere that made the brunch experience even more enjoyable. I’d rate it a solid 10/10. due to liability these Map apps never tell you to make a U-turn instead they route you on a long Certificates trip instead the app should say you turn prohibited so that people that want to make a U-turn anyway know what the hell is going on and can avoid traffic jams and just make a U-turn when it’s safe

I wish I could give negative rating. Awful experience. Stay away for this coffee shop. The Bougatsa I ordered was so tiny and pricey and the taste was awful. Literally the worst I had in the US. Low quality ingredients

Stopped by today for a coffee, it's on a busy segment of Shattuck. The place seems to specialize in Greek coffee and "womelettes" (waffle omelettes). The food options look great for vegetarians, but there are not many options for vegans. Will come back to try the Greek coffee!

Newly opened! Very light filled with friendly staff. Plus outdoor seating too which uplifts Shattuck and downtown Berkeley. It’ll definitely be a regular stop for us!
