Racist owned establishment. Money spent here is direct funding of bigoted ownership

Sicily states that she only hires female people of color. I thought discrimination was illegal? I wonder what Sicily would think if white male owned businesses only hired white males?Discrimination is evil no matter what business you own.

I didn't take a picture and I don't remember what I was given but I just remember this place was good! The owner is super sweet

Great place. Excellent. Go here. I've gone there many times and always loved what I got.

I really enjoyed the sandwich with the fried egg. Really nice thick, buttery bread--plus bacon, so it hit like only comfort food can. Even though Pinky and Red's has been closed for a while due to the pandemic, I still find myself thinking of that sandwich from time to time.

Been closed during the pandemic, miss them so much. Hope they come back this fall when classes are back in session! Great food and Pinky is great!

Love their chicken! Pinky is committed to serving the best food for Berkeley students. Can't wait to see them back at the ASUC.

Great service and AMAZING soul food with a twist. Order the chicken and the egg - you won’t regret it.

The food was yummy and the store was run by the sweetest ladies ever! I got the chicken sandwich and it slapped... Even though I was running into credit card difficulties, they were understanding and made me feel so at home with their warm attitude. The chicken sandwich was more of a clump of fried chicken rather than one whole piece, but all of the pieces were crunchy and it was so good! They even gave me chocolate with my order and I have to stan

We want flavour and atmosphere and great music! Pinky has it and then some. Oh and don't forget to purchase the blueberry lemonade.

Friendly service but the food was just okay. The fried chicken sandwich was just a pile of little chicken tenders. We waited twenty minutes for our food. It was a really busy weekend so maybe they were overwhelmed or ran out of real chicken sandwiches?

Great fried chicken, cooked perfectly. Loved the seasoned fries too!

We ate here on Cal Day and there was a LOOOOOOOOONG line. It took about 10-15 minutes to get to the front and then there was another 15-20 minute wait for the food. Was it worth it?Hells no.Pinky and Red's was a three person operation and the entire ordering process just seemed slow and inefficient. When we finally got our food they got around to telling us they were out of the kale mac n cheese. We actually knew it 15 minutes before since we heard them tell someone else in line, but they hadn't yet told the people who had already paid for it. I asked for extra chicken instead and the counter person also threw in some Knott's Shortbread Jam cookies my daughter was eyeing - I'm sure to make up the extra cost. The portions were small, even for $8. The fried chicken sandwiches were made up of smallish bits of chicken. These were pieces of chicken smaller then the two bite frozen chicken tenders my kids eat. They just kept falling out of the bun and didn't fill it up the way an actual chicken breast would. Some bites were a lot more bread in chicken. We wondered if they ran out of chicken breast or if it's always this way. Other than the tiny pieces of chicken it was just a big pile of arugula and a little mayo (we asked for no ketchup). It was easily the worst fried chicken sandwich I've ever had and to boot it was not dressed in any sort of interesting way (cole slaw, spicy pickles... I would have taken anything). The burger was $8 and the patty small and overcooked. Again with the mass of arugula. Our replacement side order of extra chicken to make up for the kale mac n cheese was just a bunch of fried chicken bits like in the sandwich. Definitely not worth the price. The fries were topped with Old Bay seasoning and were good. The best part of the meal might have been the Knott's Shortbread. It's been a long time since I've had those. My daughter's instinct was good.We were all still hungry afterwards. I'm getting mad just writing this review because I'm never in Berkeley and there are so many good restaurants and I wasted a meal at Pinky and Red's.

Pinky and Red's is undoubtedly one of my favorite spots in Berkeley. The food and the environment is unmatched as far as I'm concerned compared to other soul food spots (AND it's halal !). I always get the Fried Chicken sandwich with either a side of fries (which are beautifully seasoned) or Mac n cheese balls. Both are equally delicious, it just depends on my mood for the day. They also make a fresh, delicious homemade lemonade that is truly a treat to all who taste it. The staff are all amazing people who attempt to get to know their customers and to ensure they're getting the best experience possible. They really go the extra mile to make sure their customers are satisfied. Every single time I've left Pinky and Red's it's been with a smile and a satisfied belly. This place has a special place in my heart and it's a must try for all when in Berkeley.
