Wow! I can't believe that they're closed. They had such good pizza, good wines and dessert. Gluten and dairy free. And very, very good. The only downside was that it was quite pricey. I'm not expecting a $5 pizza, but for two of us it would cost over $40. My sister and I were going but they're gone.

Neighborhood restaurant for families reliably serving high quality food for a fair price. Also a reliable place for vegetarian and vegan options.

Vegan pizza and pasta were delicious

As a neighbor who lives close by, I love this place. Their pizza is among the best I've found in Berkeley. It includes fresh seasonal ingredients and has an excellent, crispy crust. I've been coming here with friends for several years, and also get take-out from them frequently. Their staff seem loyal, as the same people have worked there for some time. The atmosphere is perfect for a comfortable neighborhood place: always lively but never overly crowded or noisy.

The food and service were ahead of our expectations. I truly enjoyed the ambience of this place. Wonderful place to take my family out for dinner.

Very good pizza, ambiance and services. One of the top 3 I know in the area.

Just happened to stop in before a meeting. Excellent house made pasta and reasonable prices. Great service.

The service was good, but the pizza wasn’t anything to write home about.

I have been here a few times, as I used to live on Gilman, which is not too far from it. Unfortunately, I pass this place every day, driving home from work, so recently (past 9 months), I decided to try it with my family a few times. Have been here 3 times and they have disappointed every time. Now I know why every time I drive by it, it's almost always empty. From my experiences here, the service is not so great. The employees don't appear happy or into their jobs. It's just really bad energy in this place. The food is mediocre at best. You can make better at home. And from a place that is this bad and always empty when I drive by, there's no way this star rating is legitimate. At least 3/4 of their reviews must be fake. I have been fooled by shady businesses before with fake reviews and it's just wrong. Waste of time and money. Its not acceptable for businesses to lie and misrepresent themselves like this. So take this warning and don't fall for this place.

Pizza Moda has been around for a while in the middle of University Ave in Berkeley. My family had been there one time before and decided to make a return visit. We ordered a number of things that had an interesting flavor. For starters we had the garlic bread, caesar salad and their special fried macaroni balls. The garlic bread was really toasted and crunchy. The salad used kale so it wasn't a traditional one. It was really bitter. The macaroni balls were the best and came with a red sauce. For the main course we had the ravioli, sausage pasta and a magherita pizza. The pasta is house made which really makes a difference in taste. The sausage pasta came in a big helping in red sauce. The taste of the ravioli were a bit off, and we wouldn't have that again. The pizza had a nice soft and thin crust which we really enjoyed. While we wouldn't have the garlic bread or ravioli again, the rest was quite good.

Pizza moda has some good Pizza, however since the owner changed it hasn't been the same (still not bad). It is up class but still worth the cost either way.

By far the best pizza in the bay area. I love their potato and pancetta pizza!
