Amazing Pizza, Roman-style. They have great combinations of toppings, including for vegetarians.Edit: They recently announced they would close down soon. Try it out before it’s too late!
First time trying this place, based on Google reviews - expecting a really decent pizza. Half of it was obviously sitting around for a while and was completely dried out-I basically paid $19 for dried cheese bread (had almost no sauce). I actually gave the pizza to a homeless person on my way to another pizza restaurant.
It's expensive but it's worth it. Our favorite - hands down - is cacio e pape. Crust is perfectly crunchy on the bottom and chewy on top. The cheese is creamy and rich, with the perfect amount of pepper, and not overly salty. There was a very small problem with our order but they made up for it with a free tiramisu - delish and bonus points for customer service.
Great pizza! It's quick because the pizza is made beforehand and they heat it up when you order it. I would say 2 slices is a good amount per person. Each "slice" is actually cut into three squares so it's easy to share and try different types. The pizza toppings are interesting and everything tasted great, I like to try new things. I had the Anchovie Pizza and the Spicy Salami, both excellent. Other kinds were really good too, you can't go wrong!Salads and apps are also good, they have tables for larger groups too. It is the type of place where you order at the counter and then they bring it to your table when it is ready. Everything was very delicious and I would recommend this place! The only negative thing I can say is that they do not offer any gluten-free dishes so I cannot take my wife there. But for work lunches, it's great!
Roman Street pizza. Their dough undergoes a three day fermentation, and includes five types of flour, all from Italy.
This is a great Italian style pizza place in Berkley. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. They have cans of beer but nothing in tap. If you are looking for upscale pizza, you can go here.
I celebrated my birthday with my family there and we had a great time. The staff was very accommodating and the food was delicious! Thanks Pollara Pizzeria for having us there! Hope to be back soon.
Great location with fun atmosphere, amazing food with many options and all delicious. A must if you're near by
I have visited for over a year and I believe I was served by the owner many times and I would come from San Jose Menlo Park Mill Valley just to get my pizza maybe 2-3 times a month well I'm not going there anymore and I am going to miss it. These people on January 7th, 23 we're so rude to me... I will miss this pizza. Ash white female and a younger version of the owner in fact. I'm glad (sorry) I hadn't thrown my pizza at them.
The pizza is so good and addictive, but only when we eat there right after they heat it up for you. When we ordered for take out and heat up at home, it no longer taste the same. It doesn't taste good when they sell it cold and we bake at home.

This is not your typical pizza. The crust is crisp, with a soft pillowy dough. The toppings were all high quality with fresh mozarella, basil, sliced tomatoes, etc.
I absolutely love their Roman style pizza (uses a focaccia bread base). Ingredients are high quality Italian toppings, not like the greasy cheese and overly salty cured meats typical of American pizza. The Roman pizzas are at room temp and you can request to reheat in their ovens and eat indoor or outdoor or you can take home and reheating instructions are provided in writing as well as on a video on their website. Here are examples of their high quality Italian toppings: Italian sausage, pork meatballs, straciatella, diavola salame, Ndjua, prosciutto di parma, Sicilian anchovies, fresh mozzarella, ricotta, pecorino, grana padano, EVO, trumpet mushrooms, sundried tomatoes, leeks, arugula, etc...The staff is always courteous and friendly and the facility is very clean. They are near a parking lot and they're across the street from Sur La Table.I buy their left-over end of day pizza through TOO GOOD TO GO for $5.99. For that price, I usually get two quarters (6"x4") of topped pizza or half a slab (8"x12") of Rossa, leek or mushroom plain pie with one quarter of a topped pizza. This is a bargain compared to their regular prices but the content is a surprise so you can't choose in advance. They will also provide cayenne pepper flakes and parmesan cheese upon request. See pics of the 6+ orders I got through TOO GOOD TO GO.
Whoa, this is really good pizza, some of the best I've ever had! The crust is super light & crispy, the cheese & stuff toppings plentiful and it's not too bready. We had the anchovy with sundried tomatoes as well as the mushroom pizza and both were to die for. Know that you can order 1/2 an individual slice, (individual servings start at 10$, whoa inflation!) It's really high quality pizza. Yum.
I had to come back several times whenever I visit fourth street — really the best pizza I’ve had at Berkeley! I was a little skeptical about the focaccia-like crust at first, but it was so crispy and airy in the same time which creates a light and slightly chewy texture. All flavors come with a generous amount of toppings with fresh ingredients, and they still taste super good after reheating with conventional ovens at home!
I had the pleasure of trying out their food and it was DELICIOUS! The crust is crispy and the ingredients are all fresh. This makes it one of my top 10 faves. The owners and staff are kind and outgoing ?
