Priya is...fine. Honestly, I wouldn't call it bad or great, it's a good Indian restaurant that's worth bringing family or friends from out of town to. I think there are a few (very) nearby Indian places that have tastier food, but most of them are lacking in ambience in comparison to Priya. The buffet is also a nice bonus, since the aforementioned nearby places don't have that same luxury.
We had the buffet. A couple dishes were kinda good, most were over salted or too much oil. Neither of us felt very good the next day. Seems like this food is the culprit.
We went for buffet on a Saturday. The place is dirty, bathroom is disgusting. Food is so bad. They served fermented dal curry. I complained to the server. He said nothing.
Samosas were frozen in the middle, chai was basically Earl Grey with thick milk and a hint of spice, weekend buffet was already cold and soggy at 7:30. The server was super friendly and comp'd the samosas and chai, but overall... Probably better as a lunch spot.
Excellent food!!! A must go when you visit Berkeley.. Goat curry is amazing and perfect home made taste ..
Really flavorful options from North and South India cuisine. The price was right. We got in when it was a little quiet, which is always a plus for me. The staff was extremely friendly and welcoming. Definitely coming back when I'm in the area.
Really great menu, the weekend buffet is awesome and different every time! Plus the family that owns it is super cool. Also, their takeout is a great deal, and the beer is reasonably priced. It's really always a good choice.
Their vegetable korma is the best ever! They also have Flying Horse. The staff are friendly - and hilarious!
Priya is good, not great. Come here when you are hungry and don't want to go broke. The food is three star, but I gave it a five for value. One nice thing is that they are open all day on the weekend, so if you are like me and aren't always hungry during typical meal times, this is really helpful.
Oooooohhheeeemjeepers, best, spiciest Indian food I've ever encountered. Dinner buffet on Sunday.
