I haven't been here since I was in high school and that was a long time ago. Needless to say the food was amazing. It was fresh and exactly as I remembered it, maybe better I don't know.
This is a small, local operation, and I appreciate it so much! Quality food with quality ingredients. I grew up eating Mediterranean food and this tastes pretty close to home. They people were all super nice. I tried the Mediterranean plate and I don't think I've ever had falafel that tasted so fresh. So much food for the price, too! My friend got the chicken burrito and she said "that sh*t was hittin' with the seasonin" overall great experience, will continue to to support them through this time. Support local businesses
Excellent quality ingredients, flavorful and delicious. All takeout (a couple tiny tables inside) this place does wraps and chicken like nobody's business. The salmon wrap will set you back $, but is worth every penny. Hope this place can survive Covid19.
Not great , this was actually the first place I ate at for lunch as a freshman when I went to Berkeley high. I remember I got the chicken burrito with the works. It was fire back then, but now years later with possibly new ownership this has changed for the worst. Got a chicken plate this time and that mess was dry as heck and the prices have gone way up. Also the owner does not respond well to criticism and can be quite rude.
Funky, cool, two story converted place...delicious, organic, Mediterranean & Middle Eastern food!
Man! This placed used to be sooo good. Unfortunately as of this last visit their food is extremely different from what I remember it to be. I got the chicken plate, which I remember used to come with a delicious salad, rice, & tahini sauce. This time, it came with vegetables, brown rice, black beans & salsa which doesn't seem very Mediterranean to me, oh well. The chicken was gag-worthy overcooked, nothing was salted, and nothing was flavorful. Sad to have paid 18$ for a plate I'm not going to finish.
Great little hole in the wall! I was pleasantly surprised. I got a burrito with spinach, basil, beans, rice, and salsa. It was delicious!!! We also got hummus and pita on the side and the hummus was so good it tasted so fresh! Everything is organic as well! The prices were very reasonable for everything being organic. I will definitely be coming back when I'm craving Mediterranean.
Love this place. Good service and tasty food.
We ordered two platters for a large party the day before our workshop. The food delivered was warm, delicious and savory. We loved everything that was included in the meat and falafel platters. Would definitely do business with them again!
Love the food but staff seems disorganized and sometimes confused on what the items on the menu contain 3/4 times my wrap has not had all the ingredients listed.
I had the salmon plate. That plate was communicating really well with my taste buds. Kinda pricey tho.
Love this place It's a hole in the wall, but food is great, gluten-free and veggie I go here whenever I'm near Berkeley Parking far garage next door w a EV charger
Really hospitable! They were closed and they still saw us and we had a great food and experience!
I have to say that I love thos place. I had a bad experience here with grub hub but, that wasn't their fault. I waited 2 hours to get my meal and when it never came I tried to order a new meal and pick it up on the bus, my car was getting fixed hence grub hub. I picked up my meal and i was in a rush. One bus came late and the other was coming early. They didn't seem bothered by the fact that I need to run, lol. When i got home I found out they had sold me the cold grub hub meal. I paid twice for a cold meal. Pros, the food was still amazing. I ordered the salmon kebab wrap as a plate, fries and falafel balls. The fries were ice cold and flat but, still ok. I spoke to the owner and we fixed it, hopefully. I've been coming here since they opened and its solid wholesome food and my body never complains after I eat here. I love their Mediterranean plate, the veggie soup with fries and their falafel anything. And now I love their salmon kebab. Cons, the staff can sometimes seem like they're in another world. The truth is I wish I was in that world with them. I wish I didn't have to worry about my bus only coming once ever 45mins. on a rainy night. I wish I was out somewhere ilenjoying the day taking it easy and not pressed for time. I think they have a more laid back approach to life here. Also, I hate grubhub, no business should be using it at this point. This was not my only bad experience and I think they penalize the businesses instead of taking the hit themselves on non delivered food. Side note I was called and told the driver was coming in 15mins which is why I didn't even think the food was in the store anymore, I figure it was in someone's car being driven around the bar area.
Ordered the Mediterranean plate and it was great! Healthy food and fun upstairs!
Tasty, wholesome, homemade food. Comfort food with many options for vegans. Everything looked so delicious. I had a veggie burrito with tofu and added various salsas from the salsa bar. The people were also very nice. I'll be back :)
Solid clean eats: *affordable *grass fed meats *wild fish *generous portions *a little Mediterranean and a bit of everything else, good fajitas and nachos *everything was spot on with the Mediterranean plate Definitely will be on my delivery rotational.
The Jerusalem is the perfect balance of comfort and health (in my humble opinion).
Ordered 3 items through UberEats - two out of three were messed up (no chicken / salmon in salads, no souse / balsamic). Food itself is OK, but it wold be nice to have some protein / souse in food especially if I've already paid for it.
Problem 1: like most restaurants, large and small, they have a hard time prioritizing which orders should come first: Uber Eats/Grub Hub and in-person, dine-in/take-out customers (customers who are in-store waiting for their food). Possibly why I waited a long time for my wrap. Problem 2: Uber Eats orders means they are now overextended and overworked. More orders in shorter timeframe with no increase in staff means margin of error is high. Was this why my burrito had hardly any spinach and like 2 walnuts? I paid $13+ for a tortilla filled with rice and beans. This is known as false advertising and means you are cheating and disrespecting your customers. Other possibilities: 1 the cost of food is so high that they stuffed my spinach wrap with rice? Solution: don't advertise it as a greens wrap if you don't have the greens to fill it, as unfortunate as that is. 2. Due to the drought a lot of food is unavailable so they were forced to stuff my spinach wrap with rice. 3. They don't want to buy/can't afford walnuts Solutions: same as above Suggestions: hire more employees, make better use of your upstairs space, use the upstairs to cook and downstairs for seating & stop false advertising/cheating Questions: where do the tips go? Who gets the tips? Are the tips taxed? Can I get a refund for my wrap that had hardly any spinach? Or at least another wrap? Can you confirm your food is organic? If so, how?
Delicious nutritious eats and a big menu! This place is wonderful!
If you're looking for a healthy meal, this is a great choice. The wraps were well made and tasted really yummy and fresh, and the service was friendly and kind. The portions are a bit small for the price (not that I didn't feel full or anything, just usually you would get a bigger burrito at other places), but since it's organic, I think it's reasonable. Do keep in mind that the restaurant is quite small, so it's not really suited for large groups.
I ordered a wild salmon shish kebab wrap and it was delicious! The salmon was tender, lemony, and flavorful and went well with the soft and pillowy tortilla and rice. Overall the ingredients tasted really fresh and high quality and melded well. The meal was satisfying and healthy but it was a bit on the pricey end for your average lunch. Still, I'd be down to come here again!
Delicious, healthful, flavorful food. Great vegan and vegetarian options, friendly and fast service.
Love it!!! The the split lentil soup and falafel are delish!!! And the staff are friendly, helpful and it's always perfect and consistent.
5 stars Bomb bomb bomb bomb bomb bomb bomb bomb
Avoid this place. NONE ORGANIC. The Servers dont speak a Slick of English. Orders come out late, AND confused. Had to get a refund from this place. Plus they MIX the meat dishes with the veggie. Razans SUCKS!!
Such good food! It’s healthy clean eating where you still get to eat all of your favorite dishes. It’s the burrito you love, but this one makes you feel great after!
Amazing wraps but small place and not many seats to sit and dine there.
This tiny restaurant is very big on flavor. I got the Tofu Plate and was very satisfied with the quality and taste of everything on the plate. The salsa was extremely fresh and not overwhelmingly spicy. My companion got a Chicken Plate and salad, both generously portioned. I was visiting from out of town and can't wait to go back to Oakland to eat there again.
Great organic wild salmon burrito, and the give you a little falafel with each dish, fresh cooked, that was yummy.
They have a large selection of vegan wraps. Tasted so yummy and you can tell it was made with love. I craved it for a whole week after. I would recommend this place. Check them out!
The hummus is a little bland but overall sandwiches are generally good and quick. The staff can smile more though not sure why they're so sad. The tofu sandwich is what I recommend!
Healthy, clean, friendly and just awesome. Great spot for lunch and dinner. I get my pre and post workout protein-filled meal here almost every day.
Not inedible - just really bland. My burrito consisted of unseasoned tofu, unseasoned black beans, unseasoned and over-cooked brown rice and salsa in a wrap. Not for me.
Came here for a low key dinner meal. There is a little bit of seating inside and outside but it seems most people come here to pick up takeout. They have a very expansive menu with everything from burritos to middle eastern food. I'm not really sure if anything is actually organic as the name might imply. I got the Jordanian wrap. It took a while to come out but that might also have just been my perception because I was pretty hungry. The wrap itself was good and tasted very fresh. The only thing was that it was pretty small for a $10 wrap. I wasn't hungry or anything afterwards but I don't think the value proposition of this place is great. Compared to the burritos, wraps, and sandwiches you get at all the other nearby places for the same cost it seems a little expensive.
incredible food. got the jordanian wrap and my friend got the mediterranean plate, both were great sizes and super flavorful. guys who work there are super friendly and eager to help you out. and the baklava!!!!!!! omfg please do yourself a favor and get it
I ordered the meat platter and vegetarian atter and it was beyond amazing! Our entire staff raved about the food and it's hard to please the vegans in our group. Everyone was fighting over the leftovers this am so I'm glad I took some home last night. I was too late to order online but called and they took my order and walked it out to the car for me. Plus it was ready on time. I will be back!!!
A great place to get a nice home cooked meal. I have been coming to this place for a while and always enjoy everything I get. Usually very nice service. However tonight I was so excited to come here, and the lady working didn't even say hello or what can I get you when I came in, just a blank stare as if she was annoyed with me but expecting me to order. Just a bit of kindness would go along way to your customers and it's rude to just not speak when you are literally the person working the register, wow is all I can say. However I will keep coming here for the food. Update- they just got my order incorrect. They made a salmon burrito and when I told the lady I had actually ordered the salmon plate she said "you said salmon burrito", no, I did not. I order the same thing every time and I hate burritos so I most definitely wouldn't say that. Instead of brushing off ur mistake on me, do the right thing and just apologize and fix it. Instead she said "it's guna take time" yea I just took an Uber here, waited for food, and I'm not guna get something else that I don't even want. I said I would wait and she charged me an extra 5$ for the price difference. This is why you always double check and repeat someone's order back to them to confirm this. She didn't even speak to me a single time just rung me up for my food no thank you or anything so of course she misheard me and got the order wrong. It's ok, I had a first job too once but the difference is when you make a mistake you learn from it and apologize to the customer, take responsibility and make it right for the person paying. One person who isn't properly trained and treats customers with rudeness and a bad attitude can ruin the entire experience and bottom line is this food isn't cheap. I expect a higher level of service from a place that's charging me 18$ for a plate. Update- the salmon plate which is usually cooked perfectly and delicious, was unfortunately dry and rushed today since they had to remake my food and were hurrying. They also put a lot of beans, which I had asked for none of. Unfortunate. On another note, there are plenty of friendly, professional young people who would love the opportunity to work in an organic kitchen making good money along with tips, who would love to take the place of this girl who clearly doesn't value the customer and is just there to collect a check.
