Everything was excellent: reservation, service, cocktails & food. Just wish they could buffer the noise; on a Saturday night, no way to have a convo at our table.

Wonderful atmosphere, attentive service, great drink and food - and the location was perfect for our show at Freight and Salvage. Would definitely go again. Also the restaurant is located immediately at the exit from the BART station, so easy to get to even in the rain.

We have been to Revival many times and one reason is because of its location in such close proximity to the Berkeley repertory Theater. It also has generally had very good food. And yesterday was not an exception.

We arrived for our 6 PM reservation. We told two servers we had a theatre reservation at 8 and did not receive our food until 7:30PM. The food was hastily plated and not very good.

I've been to Revival many times, and I used to enjoy it, but the past two times the service was very slow and the food was just OK. This time we waited 30 minutes in between our salad and entrées. The server explained that it was because the risotto takes a long time to make... That was one of 2 specials of the evening! And it wasn't really worth the wait, since it wasn't great in terms of flavor or texture. We did get a free dessert on the house, which was very nice, but it also wasn't great — a watery cheesecake.

Love the cocktails and the food here. They usually have jazz music.

This place was way over priced for very small portions compared to other restaurants in the area. Additionally, the food was very bland and the things the dishes featured were barely present. For example I ordered the heirloom tomato salad with chicken. It contained a ton of cherry tomatoes and 4 chunks of heirloom tomato. There was less than a cup of chicken on my plate.

Would never eat there again. I would also recommend finding another spot unless you’re just looking to get drinks before going to the theater.

Food was great. Kitchen and wait staff fell an hour behind because of a large party. However, the friend who brought me had been there many times with no long wait. Hostess jumped right on the problem. Cocktails were also quite good. Decor is lovely.

Wait staff was outstanding! Cocktails were spectacular. Ribs were a little dry, sea bass was great! Best chocolate mousse i have ever had.

Have come here often before a Berkeley Rep play. Told the server we had tickets. For some reason the server was not as attentive as expected. My dinner was lukewarm. Others with me didn't seem to have that experience with their food so not sure what happened. Had the sea bass which even though not warm enough had great flavor.

RESTUARANT IS LOCATED IN AN AREA WHERE THERE CAN BE A LOT GOING ON, UNFORTUNATELY TODAY THERE WAS AN EVENT AT THE THEATRE NEAR BY. THERE WAS A WAS LARGE CROWD THAT THE RESTURANT WAS NOT PROPERLY PREPARED AND STAFFED FOR. THE FOOD WAS DECENT, THE SERVER VERY NICE AND APOLOGETIC BUT THE THE FOOD WAS WAS EXTREMELY SLOW AND THEY GOT ONE OF OUR ORDERS WRONG FOR ONE OF OUR PARTY.

My favorite go-to place in Downtown Berkeley when seeing a show at The Marsh, Freight, Roda, Peet's & Aurora Theaters. Food is always excellent.

Nice selection of food items on the menu, and I got to taste a few appetizers as well as a special of scallops, the steak main and the sea bass main. On the whole, the food was attractively prepared and tasty, but I would say a little bit overpriced, and the fish a little bit overcooked. For example, 4 sea scallops cost $38. They were good, but not quite that good. I would say the food was one notch down for where it should be for the prices but otherwise was quite good. However, the thing that really annoyed me and kind of shocked me is that their list of cocktails is premade. Moreover, I ordered a special old-fashioned from the menu list and requested that it be a bit less sweet than usual. They served it to me and it was a bit too sweet. Only later did they tell me that it was premixed. So they should’ve told me this in the first place and they absolutely should not charge $21 for a cocktail that a bartender is not actually making on a drink by drink basis, especially when a customer asks for a minor modification and is not even told about this. This is not bartending. For this reason, I give them one star less than I would otherwise. Personally, I will avoid anywhere that does not make cocktails as they are ordered.

The restaurant was full of people going to the theater. Despite this, the service was attentive enough, and the food came in a timely manner.

Old fashioned dark interior, classy and solid. The friendliest, kindest and most polite waitstaff and the concierge - the young gent, sorry, didn't look for the name (it was Sunday afternoon). We had an absolutely gorgeous bottle of Valravn cabernet - and the waitress offered an ample taste of the two wines to choose - a risotto and a salmon rillettes, both wonderful. My vis a vis didn't like the fish on the menu that day (sea bass, I believe) so the waitress immediately offered to substitute it with shrimp, and did so - plump juicy nicely sautéed crustless crustaceans. The rillettes had a bit of a texture, it's not a mousse like pate, and came with thinly sliced toasts of a baguette.
A lovely place for a date or a family gathering :)

We were seated in a corner of the restaurant where it was quieter as I have some hearing issues. The service was excellent and the food was outstanding. We will definitely return.
