This is a beautiful store outside and inside. After stalking this restaurant on Instagram and after I missed pop-up events for Oktoberfest, I finally bought some pretzels. Yummy! It was well worth the wait. I scored some of the weekly specials, the pesto and mozzarella pretzel. I also bought the jalapeño and cheddar. I will never buy one of those pretzels off the street carts ever again. I used to buy Auntie Annie’s soft pretzels at the mall, but never again. I am officially a pretzel snob now. I am making plans to go back to Squabisch for the pretzel sandwiches. The fresh quality ingredients are evident in every bite.

Small store. Stoic service though it was not a busy Thursday. I love the concept of both sweet and savory pretzels. Got the mushroom one. Pretty dry and thin pretzel.

Authentic bretzen- tastes bring me back to Bayern! The man taking our order was very welcoming. Loved the sweet and savory options. Will definitely be returning when back in Albany!

I had high hopes for the cinnamon sugar twist, expecting something amazing based on its name. Unfortunately, it fell short, the pretzel part was hard, almost like it could have been from yesterday's batch, and wasn’t even remotely warm.

Loving the creativity and taste of these pretzels!
This spot is a family favourite. Something for everyone..as long as it's a pretzel. I cannot recommend this place highly enough. Absolute Rockstars.
Kid-friendliness: Staff are kind and considerate towards little ones. We will keep coming back. Thank you Squabisch!

The best pretzel place in Northern California! They are a small family business that started at a farmers market; so delicious that now they can have a place they call home. My favorite is the pretzel bratwurst (5/5)! Perfect firmness on the outside of the pretzel and softer inside wrapped around a perfect bratwurst. It’s not even soggy either. Top it off with a little sprinkle of salt on top! It’s even good the next day, with reheat in the microwave or in the air fryer!
Pretzel bratwurst- 5/5
Fungi cheese -4/5
Asiago -4/5
Jalapeño cheese - 4.5/5
Classic -4/5
Found out recently that they have a small freezer section near the cashier, where you can purchase frozen pretzel and reheat at home! A little bit more economical and still delicious!
Clearly, I’m a salty pretzel gal than a sweet pretzel girl.

My wife and I went here for the first time before a Cal Football game back in November 2023 as we both really enjoy a German soft pretzel. I should note - we go to Munich two or three times a year so we think we have a good baseline of a good pretzel. This is the only place we have found in the US to have authentic German pretzels! In addition, they have our favorite pretzel cut hamburger style with a nice butter spread in between. Coupled with a light coating of salt and the soft bread of the pretzel - it's really amazing. They also have a variety of other pretzels with toppings. The owners have always been extremely friendly and genuine people every time we go - definitely a staple in Berkeley and East Bay. They also offer pretzel baking classes; we just did the class and had an amazing time. Definitely recommend for couples or families.Every time we're in the area we'll come back - highly recommend.
