Teance is a Berkeley institution. The shop is beautifully laid out: elegany and sparse. Their tea inventory is beautifully crafted. Teaware such as Chinese Yi-jing teapots and fine porcelain tea cups are available. The shop features tea tasting with staff offering friendly, knowledgeable advice and answering questions with detailed explanations. An incredible hidden gem. The space is well tended and curated, beautiful concrete and stonework without feeling stark. They invite you in in a real way. The tea is incredible, I recommend doing an oolong tasting to experience the contrast and breadth of the tea. Baby friendly, I bring my nanny kid there and they welcome them and don’t treat their needs like a burden. One of the few magical places in the world, i feel so lucky to be in their orbit.
