We cautiously tried this for a third time, now that it appears to be under new ownership. To our great surprise, both the food and service have greatly improved!

The previous two times, there was a single person working, which resulted in 45+ minute waits for both food *and* drinks. In fact, the last time we were here, we were super annoyed—as was everyone else waiting—that the loudest table in the restaurant kept helping themselves to draft beer (so we assumed that was the prior owner), while everyone else had to wait an hour for drinks, due to a single employee working. The food that we got, eventually, was like something from a to-go kiosk at a regional airport.

This time, however, we received our drinks within five minutes of sitting down! The food took a total of twelve minutes. Everything was correct and the food was much better than before. The difference is night and day.

They also know their audience and had a great stream of 80s power ballads in the background, which was a nice touch. Well done! (Except for the burger, which came out medium rare, exactly as ordered!)

I think the issue is the ownership is changing hands. But, After waiting 30 minutes to receive my order, it came out wrong. I ordered the hot dog with onions and two sauces ($1.50 per sauce), of which it came with no onions and one of the sauces. I let them know and 10 minutes later, still no onions and sauce. I asked for a refund for the cold hot dog, they told me no.

I will not come back for the horrible "service"

Overpriced for what you get.

A positive is the outside seating is nice.

Food was very good but not worth the prices.

An icon of my youth the station, so named because it was once a hub of the East Bay key transportation system, the station has been serving American fare, burgers, fries, milkshakes, sandwiches and more, under four different owners for the past 55 years.
The latest renditions surf's up a substantial and great tasting hamburger, with several variations, and they also have a wide selection of different French fries,
The staff is really nice, the outdoor seating is something I really love, especially if you show up there right around sunset when things have slowed down and that little intersection is quiet, and you can look up at The Claremont hotel and the Berkeley Oakland hills, while enjoying some delicious food.
The burger itself was pretty hefty almost like a half a pound of beef, really high quality, cook exactly the way I asked, usually served on a sesame brioche bun. If you like hamburgers, and you happened to find yourself in southeast Berkeley, take a break, and enjoy the station!

Vegetarian options: The station serves up a vegetarian burger that will stand up to the hippiest of the hippies

Parking: Four spots directly adjacent to the restaurant itself, and plenty of street parking up and down Claremont boulevard and Claremont Avenue

Kid-friendliness: Census outdoors on a fairly bustling street, you can bring kids here in the afternoon and let him yell their heads off while they start food fights, and run up your food bill

Wheelchair accessibility: The entire outdoor area is easily wheelchair accessible I'm not sure about the inside

I used to love this place, but now the food is sloppily put together and the quality has declined. Station has always struggled with customer service and I looked past that for years because the food was really good. Now with bad food and bad service it’s no longer forgivable.

Ok. I am local. You have a fine little dining spot. Beautiful setting. Good food. Please bring back the kids menu. Please hire good people. You can make it. I always enjoyed popping in and having a light bite after work. Maybe a beer. Last couple times have been slow service. Spanish only speaking on the phone. Kiosk ordering now only 1. Please just keep your original vision going. Or lose customers. Bonus: have “happy hour bites” like “Beer Baron” on College down the street. Its a “no brainer” for you! We are rooting for you guys!

Thanks Eric W

This used to be the best burger spot in town. Granted that was many years ago. But the current burgers are …. Basically hockey pucks. That robbery and tasteless. Frozen slabs that get no seasoning or love.

Other foods choices are better but… avoid the burgers.

Management, if you’re reading this: have some respect for the cow that gave its life for your burger patties. Have some respect for the history of the burger joint you own. Use better beef. Season it. Make it taste good.

Thank you.

Myself and three friends all very much enjoyed our delicious, fresh, food and yummy drinks.

The atmosphere was perfect. There are gorgeous flower and succulent gardens all around the restaurant. I spoke with the sweet woman who maintains and creates it all, and she even offered to give me cuttings from her plants ( plant lovers will understand how amazing this is is lol)!
I brought my dogs along as well and they loved the multiple water bowls available outside filled with fresh water.

We will be definitely be back!! It’s honestly quite strange seeing so many negative reviews. I’m thinking it must be the humans writing these reviews with the poor quality, not so much the restaurant.

Not busy when we ordered. Beer came in 5 min. But the 2 brawts we ordered never came. Finally got a server's attention, told them what we ordered, and got the food 20 min later! And no extra sides on them that cost $1,75 ea. And I tipped 20% ahead of time for this. Never going back.

Do yourself a favor and avoid this spot.My wife, daughter and I dined here this evening, spent $85+ for two burgers that arrived dry, and well done (requested medium rare), skinny fries (we received curly fries), and two beers. One of the beers we ordered ultimately wasn’t available and when they replaced it with another beer it arrived flat.Really disappointing overall, will not be returning.
