Very very happy with my experience. They went the extra mile. Tea was amazing. Treats were outstanding
We were very excited to attend afternoon tea at the peninsula. Hostess was welcoming and the musician was a great touch. However, given it was such a small space the noise level was quite high with the capacity allowed. If you have a large group it's perfect, but we were a table of two at a very small table with standard chairs that was crammed right behind a large group and the waiters walkway so it was difficult to have a conversation or move around freely. The table was so small it could barely fit the curate stand and a beverage, yet it was also not a traditional low seated table so the stand obstructed our view of each other. Despite the exceptional service, it fell extremely short for the formal afternoon tea experience we were hoping for.
It was wonderful in every way- the staff are attentive and gracious. The food was beautiful and pink in support of breast cancer, and also very tasty. The experience is elegant and special- very impressive.
Five star experience all the way. From the moment we arrived with efficient valet service to being seated at a gorgeous table, to the time we left a good couple of hours later, it was an unforgettable celebration! We went for the afternoon Traditional Tea. First offering was a glass of Champagne and fresh strawberries and cream, followed by a selection of fine teas. I loved the Black Rose while others ordered the Darjeeling tea and Caramel Pear. A delectable presentation of warm scones, pastries, finger sandwiches and assortment of condiments made for a truly delightful afternoon tea. The blush pink rose and fine porcelain tea set created a feeling of elegance. The pink theme was a nod to support breast cancer. Last but not least, I have to compliment Eric and Carlos for their courteous and caring service. Their brilliant smiles and professionalism was the icing on the cake. And speaking of cake, I was pleasantly surprise by a work of art of white and gold chocolate “hat” cover over a delicious birthday cake. Thrilled to have been thoroughly spoiled at The Living Room and grateful to my kids for the fine experience!
The hostess Patricia was a delight. Daniel our server was great at explaining all the tea's
Great ambiance; very attentive and accommodating staff; cute food. I had a lovely first time experience here for my birthday, and I will definitely be coming back some other time. I wish I remembered my server's name because he went out of his way to make it a special day for us.
High tea never disappoints. It is a beautiful room and the staff is extremely friendly and engaging. The presentation of the sandwiches and sweets is amazing and delicious. The harpist adds to the great ambience.
I came with my grandmother for her birthday and it was such a wonderful experience. The decor and presentation were perfection. We felt like two little girls having a tea party. We came at 1:30pm so we were lucky to enjoy the live harp music. We ordered the royal tea menu which came with rosé and ordered caviar. Delicious! We surprisingly got full from just the pastries , mini sandwiches and caviar. If you don’t order the caviar extra I’m not sure if it will be quite as filling (depends how big your appetite is) however I’m aware the purpose of this place to is to enjoy some sweet treats and drinks (not get stuffed). I’m not sure why people complain about the food not being filling. If you want something to fill you up then go to a normal restaurant. The pastries were super unique and tasty. The sandwiches were ok. Caviar was yummy. Our server Ricardo and Lisa ( I think that’s her name) were amazing ! Most places in LA (especially bh and west la area) have terrible service. They spoke Spanish and were very attentive. They would check up regularly without intruding and were either refilling our cup or taking empty plates away. Very sweet and great conversationalists. 10/10 service. I would come back again. This is a great place to catch up with girlfriends or your mom/daughter/grandma/ etc. It is worth the price.
Everything was wonderful as usual. My only complaint is that with the October scones, there is icing drizzled on them, so they have to be served at or below room temperature, to prevent the icing from melting and running off the scone. I missed having warm scones.
What happened? I used to love tea here, but yesterday was such a disappointment. Tea service appeared understaffed, and not the service we expected. We had to ask for for everything- water, tea, etc. This happens when you are short staffed, but to require a 20% gratuity when we virtually had no service seems absurd. The manager was indifferent. When I mentioned to her that we were completely forgotten about she just looked around. Perhaps they should not accommodate large groups since they don't have the staff or ability to handle them.

Wonderful setting with outstanding service. The food was disappointing. Very dry bread on the sandwiches, desserts not very good. The apple cider was excellent and the scones were delicious. For this high price point I would have expected better food.
I went for my friend’s bachelorette party. As the name, the tables are set in a living room style. The servers were so attentive and asked if we wanted photos before even asking. They gave a chocolate covered pastry resembling cake and a candle at the end with wedding entry song to my friend. Tea and all pastries were delicious. We were so full that we couldn’t finish and had to take some home. Such a lovely experience to celebrate. I noticed it’s all ladies.
Beyond amazing. Everything about it is so wonderful. I went there for my birthday and I was so impressed. I wish I could give them 10 stars because 5 is not enough. They treat me like a queen and I felt like I was invited to a special occasion. The drink was so special, the cookies were so delicious and the tea was so good. Also they surprised me and also other people that came for their birthday with a cake and the music. I was speechless. It was the best birthday ever. Everything was more than my expectations. The best customer service. I had a lovely day with my family and thanks for their great service.
Delicious and freshly made food. Waitstaff is attentive and accommodating. The caramel pear tea is flavorful and tastes great with some honey and milk. The tropical tea is very fruity but lovely. The food had great flavor and was beautifully created. The woman playing the harp made the atmosphere relaxing and delightful - this added a lot to the overall experience. Highly recommend!
We came for the high tea. There was a person playing the harp. It was incredibly beautiful
