FIRE! This place doesn't look like much on the inside or out but the food is fantastic! I highly recommend and would definitely go again. Next time I will share a plate though. It was so good and there was so much food I just couldn't stop eating and was full for a few hours later! Owners were nice too!

I look forward to Gaby's every time I go to big bear. Delicious, flavorful Bolivian food .. Haven't met a plate I didn't like yet. Churasco is delicious and you get a little taste of both steak and sausage. Try the cheese dip as an appetizer, I'm not even a huge cheese dip fan it was my boyfriends idea but oh my goodness this stuff is special. Yum already can't wait to see you again Gaby!

Amazing food We found this place on Yelp and it had 4.5 stars so we figured why not? The place is pretty unassuming which is probably why it wasn't crowded. But if you get past the fact it's not fancy you won't be be disappointed by the food. We had the Churrasco steak and the Picante Pollo. Both were fantastic and full of flavor. The sides were rice and salad which were fresh and delicious. The steak also came with a spicy sausage which was also great. The best part was Gaby. She is an older lady from Bolivia and told us about her journey from being a lawyer and judge in Bolivia to immigrating to the US to study at UCLA (go Bruins!). She's lived in so many cities in the US and has lived a really amazing life. She is just a wonderful person to talk to and the food is the icing on the cake. We will definitely be back here the next time we visit Big Bear!

This was the best food I've had in ages. I had the Bolivian chicken, the Avocado salaf and Mango aqua Fresca. Phenomenal! Gaby and Mo are so friendly and the food is made for you when you order it! I'll be back for sure, and bring my friends along with me.

We've been coming to Big Bear for years and only recently discovered that Gaby's serves Bolivian food. We had never tried Bolivian food before so we were excited to eat here. And wow the food was sooooo good! We got the picante de pollo, fricase (Bolivian pozole) and palta salad (avocado salad). The picante de pollo was amazing!! I'm such a sucker for unique oven-baked & slow-cooked chicken dishes. The peanut pasta that came with the chicken was very good too. I had never tried anything like that before. I want to learn how to cook it for myself. Just keep in mind, the portion size is big and you can easily split the dish between 2 people. The avocado salad was nice and refreshing. Definitely get it if you're an avocado lover. And lastly, the pozole was out of this world!! My eyes rolled to the back of my head as I slurped it down. I'm excited to come back to Big Bear when it snows and get takeout from Gaby's. This is the best comfort food for cold mountain weather! And I forgot to mention, the staff at Gaby's are very friendly and hospitable. Tip them well!

Once you enter the restaurant it feels like home. Everyone was sweet and the food very delicious. I ordered enchiladas with grilled chicken. The chicken was flavorful and tender and the sauce was yummy. It was different from the normal red or green enchiladas that most restaurants offer. I cant wait to go back.

Wonderful food! Amazing service- Margarita was delish, kids were thoroughly happy with their meals. Pozole was so good, along with asada tacos. Highly recommend. Will come back anytime we are in town.

My first time at Gabby's. It was one of the best Latin flavored dinner I ever had. The homemade chicken simmered for long time with a special sauce was just incredible. The pork ribs in the soup had just right spicyness and flavor and falling off the ribs. Gabby's is by far the best restaurant in big bear!

YUM!! Gaby is wonderful and so helpful with our order. It was our first time ordering and she explained what was on her menu. Her avocado salad was fresh and delicious. We also enjoyed the Lomo Montada tons of beef, potatoes and rice topped with two over easy eggs. If you're looking for great flavors and home cooked fare, Gaby will take care of you. We will be back.

Casual dining. You order at the front counter, then grab a table. Indoor area has two large tables for big groups. Has outdoor eating area as well. Large portions. Most entrees can fed two people. The ribs were tender, the burrito was huge. Service satisfactory.

When I think of Big Bear, I don't think about excellent Latin cuisine...until now. Gaby's menu seemed interesting enough with a mix of typical Mexican fare and curious Bolivian items I've never hear of. With a nod to trying the restaurants specialty, we ordered from the Bolivian side. We were blown away. Oh, I've gotten ahead of myself. The margaritas, hand shaken, with muddled fresh citrus juice, in huge goblets were a perfect start to the meal. We enjoyed a dish of vinegary red onion, avocado with our fresh made tortilla chips. The server and Gaby herself brought out the dishes with bright smiles and warm conversation. The entree...chicken in green pea stew with rice and pasta. My goodness!! I would have licked the plate if I weren't in public. Coming again soon! Thanks!

Make sure to stop here for lunch or dinner! We were undecided where to go and we are so glad we picked here. Huge servings, friendly service, and more importantly very fresh ingredients. Our burritos and sauces had great flavor in both the seasoning and the ingredients themselves. The food is extremely filling yet not heavy -- in the best way! We will be back next time we're in CA!

I went here for lunch on a random Wednesday. I was craving something new, and that can be hard to find on this mountain. I went into the festively decorated building, and was transported to another world. The nice lady who helped me right when I walked in was possibly the original Gaby herself. I asked her what's good? and she replied to try the spicy short ribs. So I did. It was delicious. It also came with a pasta side instead of rice, which I found interesting in a good way. overall it was almost like a food fusion effect, without it being so contrived. 10/10 would recommend. This is obviously a family owned restaurant, and they went above and beyond to give great service.
