Great service and great sushi!
Best quality of fish, perfect sushi rice (which I'm a stickler about) and great specials. Always fresh and never disappointed when I go.
Dat jawn is the best. Sarah is the best there is. She makes killer food. If you stop through Big Sur. Drop by the truck.
Got some great sushi to go from Sushi Jawn while we were staying in Big Sur for a long weekend. I had the Jat Poke Bowl with Yellowtail, Serrano chiles, ponzu sauce and watercress. It was delicious. My wife had a couple rolls which were also delicious. Don’t be fooled by the modest setting. Made with love and quality ingredients.
Absolute delight. Great service, even better quality and taste. If you are in the area and looking for a unique experience, we can’t recommend Sushi Jawn enough!
Best sushi around ! Perfect ambiance and amazing service!
Stumbled on a Philly chef Sarah Sweeney making sushi in Big Sur. After working at Morimoto's and Blue Fin 2, she packed up and headed west. Philly's loss is Big Sur's hidden treasure. A food truck serving up poke bowls and sushi tucked into Riverside Campground and Cabins.

Delightful! One of a kind sushi experience in a campsite (you don’t have to be staying there to grab food). Chef is an absolute pro, clearly taking the utmost care to provide the perfect meal. My favorite meal I’ve had in Big Sur.
Sarah offers a unique experience in a homey, woodsy environment. A good alternative to the local pub fare.

Sushi Jawn was as tasty and fresh as we were told by some Big Sur locals it would be! It’s not inexpensive but it’s good. And you’re getting your sushi from a minimalist food truck under a stand of redwoods. Sushi Jawn is open as a food truck on Thursdays (4-7pm) and Fridays (1-7pm) in the Riverside Campground in Big Sur. Not sure if that schedule is seasonal or not. Thoroughly enjoyed the chef’s signature roll “Shenanigans” which was, as she promised, an explosion of flavours in our mouths. There was hamachi, kiwi, Siracha, avocado and hot cherry in the roll. We asked her what she recommended that day and got the hamachi nigiri and eel hand roll at her recommendation.
We got some of the finest sushi of our lives at Riverside Campground where Chef Sarah generously made us plate after plate of grade A sushi to our liking. It tasted like a fancy feast from SF but instead of traffic we were surrounded by redwoods. Her love for the food was infectious. Can’t wait to go back for more of whatever she recommends.
Great sushi! Awesome vegetarian and gluten-free options! YUM ?
excellent sushi. every menu item is worth buying. I especially liked the unagi rolls and microgreens rolls. Besides the food being back of the head eye roll delicious face making for myself, I watched others around me make same face with squirrel like packed cheeks of feverishly devouring their plates. yes, it was that good. Taste +A, presentation A+, Cleanliness A+, Kindness A+, hours A+ Not cheap, but who trusts super cheap sushi.... You can feel good about eating here and supporting this business.
Tl;dr - we loved working with Sarah for our rehearsal dinner, and would highly recommend her to anyone who’s looking to put together a sushi event in or around Big Sur. Sarah catered our 19 guest event at Wind + Sea Big Sur in mid-May. She was super responsive and flexible as we planned the event together, and worked with me to design a coursed-out buffet format that felt both special and casual. She was also very willing and able to accommodate a range of dietary restrictions among our guests (primarily vegan and gluten-free). On the day of the event, the food was delicious and plentiful - our guests loved the variety of appetizers she brought as well as the rolls she created for us on the spot. She charmed all of our guests (who were especially obsessed with her variety of shrimp tempura rolls!) and even brought a few special surprises for my fiancé and I to ensure that we felt celebrated. Afterwards, she proactively reached out to congratulate us again and open herself up to any feedback we had post-event. It’s clear that she takes her craft seriously and is both a wonderful chef and a professional collaborator. I really can’t recommend her highly enough!
