Had the chicken curry on toasted sourdough (delicious), avocado toast (avocado was perfect) and dessert waffle (divine) plus golden milk lattes (perfectly flavored/not sweet). “Yes, yes, yes. Great food, friendly service (Erica is a sweet gal), relaxed atmosphere. When traveling we like to have a server who is friendly and willing to chat a bit. Erica was kind and efficient, too. Whiskey Creek is on our list of great meals. And, chocolate cake to boot!“
“Great local bakery, really loved that their sandwiches are made fresh on the spot to order, so you know there’s not loads of food waste. They also use for the vast majority paper and card packaging. Both unlike the other bakery in town which was mountains of single use plastic on the shelves of prepared sandwiches, surely too many to sell. I highly recommend the Great Basin Bakery sandwiches on sourdough, I loved the feta and spinach croissant and then the chocolate orange scone was super fluffy and mega tasty. Great for a climbing crag brekkie and lunch to take with you. They also have some nice locally made sauces and honey and had some yummy veggie options.“
“Stopped into Bishop overnight on a work trip and found the Looney Bean on a morning walk. Busy busy with a 30min wait for food. The "Dirty Hippie" was recommended as a house favorite and it did not disappoint! also ordered the Egg and Cheese Breakfast Burrito which was also tasty but could have used some salsa as it was a little dry with the large amount of tortilla, but it was seasoned well with salt and pepper. Very limited seating outside (2-3tables) which was unfortunate as it was such a beautiful morning and breakfast outside looking at the snowy mountains would have been amazing. They do have locally made merchandise inside which is worth a look.“
“Amazing treats and sandwiches with a variety of breads. They often have free samples that help you decide what to purchase. Their chocolate is divine and their breads are delicious. The bakery has a nice setting and you feel like you are in Europe with its homey surroundings and decor. They also have a variety of cakes and cookies, YUM!“
