This place was always my go to stop from Solvang. The pork chops were always amazing as well as the unlimited stew and beans. Now it’s not unlimited it’s 1 per table then a charge which is annoying. Not only that but our server was extremely inattentive and he seemed very annoyed when we’d ask for something. Plus the pork chops were different flavorless definitely not sugar glazed maybe a subtle hint of sweet but no where near the same and it kinda broke my heart because this used to be my favorite meal in the world I’d make solvang trips just to come here after for those pork chops. I heard it’s under new management now and things here have gone downhill. Luckily the rice and bread and potatoes were still amazing but the rest was very disappointing.

Been going for years love the atmosphere. But the customer service from the Manager Jay was so horrible I will never go back.

- Very good indoor decor
- Really delicious food & big size. I love their filet mignon.
- lots of side appetizers given to you
- good time with friends if you're visiting Solvang
- Service can be dicey. Sometimes available, sometimes busy for several minutes.
- Food sometimes come in way later than expected.

The place has unique decor and friendly staff, but the food is pretty unexciting. Even rare steaks come overcooked.

Very cool spot with taxidermy animals and a lodge feel. The place very was clean, and the service was great. Food comes out slow, but they bring stew, beans, cheese, and salsa to keep you satisfied.
They don't take reservations but have a nice big bar/lounge to wait. Definitely a must if you are in the area

What a waste of time! Don’t bother with reservations. We had a 6:30 pm reservation for only 3 people. The place was packed with no host in sight. After waiting for about 10 minutes for him to show, he told us he was behind in reservations and we would need to wait 30-45 minutes. In the meantime, parties without reservations and with 10+ people were being seated ahead of us. When almost an hour and a half past our reservation came after being assured he had available tables, we left. Absolutely ridiculous that this restaurant has no concept of how reservations work and cannot enter the 20th century by using a text message system or anything better than a single overworked host who seemed to have no grasp of seating.

Good was just okay, we had a reservation and still ended up waiting over an hour and half. I'm not sure the older man knew what he was doing. We waited outside and he started out calling names outside and then he stopped. Apparently if he called your party inside and you didn't answer he skipped over you and you went to the bottom of the list.

I recently ate at AJ Spurs, a western-themed BBQ restaurant, and honestly, it was a bit disappointing. The food was decent, but for the price, I expected something better. The service was extremely slow, even though the restaurant wasn’t busy. Dinner ended up taking over two hours, and the waitress was hardly around. It’s not the worst place, but for the price, there are definitely better options out there.

Terrible spare ribs. Over cooked, dried like jerky, thick bbq sauce with no flavor- bland!

Great place for more than a meal. Your eyes will be entertained with all the antiques & stuffed full-sized animals, etc to see. The bartender was very friendly and the Root beer ice cream float suggestion did not disappoint!

When we arrived there was a man sitting very casually speaking into his phone on a personal call that when he hung up we found out that he was the person to seat us. Was told Coffee Machine had been broken for days, so no coffee. We ordered the 12oz Top Sirloin & it was charred to almost cremation. The Salsa had an extreme Cilantro flavor, where that was all that could be tasted. Asked for A1 to help with the flavor & was brought something in a takeout cup that tasted strange. Not sure what they put on the bread, but also very strong & not sure what it was. EVERYTHING was Extremely over Salted. That was almost all you could taste. We are regular customers of tge Grover Beach AJ's & have always had a Great experience. Not sure what they do in Buellton, but will Never return. They used to be good a number of years ago, so very sad. At this rate it won't be long & another local restaurant will close if something isn't changed. Good Luck.

I love this place. Third western restaurant serves a 3 course meal. That's right you get all the fixins up front, the main course and then desert. You don't walk out of this place the staff roll you out.

Getting the balance between old west experience and too much atmosphere was not met here. Ordered fillet medium. Steak came out with parts rare and part medium. For a fillet the meat was somewhat chewy. A beef stew with the flavor approaching Campbell's Chunky. Would have preferred a choice of vegetables such as green beans or asparagus rather than a hearty stew that could have been its own meal. Rice pilaf was good, but not inspired. I would have preferred Coke products over Pepsi, so I chose water. However, I had to ask for a water refill. Potato was served family style. There was only one type of potato offered. No baked potato option. In total, it was food. Edible. Filling. Not optimal.
