HP never fails. The wine selection and drinks are very good, the wait staff and others are nice and attentive, and the food is very good.

I have been coming to Hitching Post 2 for 20 years and I've never experienced such slow and lackluster service, and on my birthday! We sat down at 6:40 and didn't leave till 9 PM and not because we were drinking copious bottles of wine, ha, wish!  the enthusiasm level from the staff was very low, and it took nearly an hour to get our main course after ordering. We were seated in the annex room next to the bathrooms, which is fine, but not very fun atmosphere but at least it's quiet. The birthday delivery of dessert took forever and wasn't served with much fanfare. Disappointing night from an otherwise solid and great restaurant.

We ate there twice this trip and the food and drinks do not disappoint. We had the filet and it was so tender you could cut it with a fork. Also the grilled artichoke is the best I've ever had. Our server Jennifer was excellent!

As always great service great food. Shrimp cocktail is always good. My filet was cooked to perfection. Wife had the lobster tail which she enjoyed.

Locals know about it so if you are in town and are looking for somewhere nice to eat that’s mellow and great for the kids this is where you can find Solvangs hidden gem ?
Must try and see for yourself.
I always get a 12oz filet mignon medium and a baked potato along with a raspberry margarita..

What a lovely experience. We walked into the main entrance which was bustling with people. We were immediately greeted by Linda, who found our reservation and happily seated us without delay. Our server Jennifer was amazing, informed us about all of the specials and was amazingly helpful. Rack of Lamb was the best I’ve ever had and the Sea Bass was delicious. A great experience!
All six of us thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Food was excellent - best piece of swordfish (and one of the best pieces of fish in general) I've ever had. Wife said same thing about filet. Smoke flavor is the key.

Horrible. I'm certain our waiter brought us a very chewy NY strip instead of a juicy rib eye that we were expecting. Years ago when we visited, we had such a wonderful meal that we looked so forward to returning, sadly we will never come back. Our food was bad, and our waiter made no attempt to rectify the situation. Place needs a major facelift, no longer charming.

Was glad to hear "Burger Night" is now available in the dining room multiple evenings. Unfortunately the burger was cooked well done rather than medium rare as I have enjoyed it many times. Disappointed. Also a very expensive, extra glass of wine was delivered to our party that we did not order? Told we could not send it back!? We have dined here many times. Seems like the place has gone downhill.
