We had a great meal at the Hitching Post II. The steaks were cooked to perfection. The espresso martinis were delish. We were there on a Saturday, and it was jam-packed. Highly recommend making a reservation.

Made the mistake of googling "Hitching Post" and got to the Hitching Post 1 website where I called to make a reservation for a Saturday evening. When we got to the Hitching Post 2 in Buellton, I found out I made the reservation at the wrong Hitching Post. Fortunately, I was able to make a reservation for the next evening on Open Table at Hitching Post 2. We had to wait about 10 minutes before our table was ready and once we were seated our waitress was very attentive. We both got the filet mignon (5 oz for me & 8oz for my spouse) and a glass of the HP Pinot Noir Sanford & Benedict. Everything was quite delicious.

The prices are outrageous. A piece of apple pie was $22! The 22-24oz bone in ribeye was $98! A table of 6 people that sat down next to us looked at the menu and left! They need to get a clue that Sideways was great but can't last forever. They are ripping people off. I love their steak and have dined here before in the past and always enjoyed it but now the price is such a deterrent. I will check out the prices for AJ Spurs which is also a steak house and you can walk there from the Hitching Post II. I checked the prices at 5 Crowns in Corona Del Mar in Orange County and they are quite a bit less expensive for the same thing and they have ambiance and are close to the beach. They are a part of the Lawry's Restaurants. I hope the owners read this and take action because I would hate to see this place close. It's a vintage Superclub and there are so few of these left.

The Hitching Post has delicious steaks that are cooked perfectly. A must is to get the grilled artichoke as an appetizer. The staff is friendly and welcoming.

HP 2 is one our favorite places. Food was excellent, service attentive, a very pleasant experience. I had my usual - small filet with shrimp and my wife had lobster which was outstanding!
Mostly went for the movie lore. Good was good. The duck was a little under cooked but ur rest was ok

Host was very kind upon my early arrival; we briefly sat at the bar and had wine. Bartender was kind to send our drinks to our dinner tab. We were then seated on time when we all arrived! Had a wonderful waitress that was kind, sweet & professional. Handled our large party of 10 like a pro. Wonderful to have such caring service. Food was fantastic; everyone, without exception, enjoyed everything they ordered. Drinks, wine, dessert. All great too. The place was busy upon our arrival and still busy when we left (even the bar seating!) Highly recommend. Hitching Post is a classy winner.
