Market City was around for 27years. Yeah I know that the last year things weren't that great but if you've been in the business this long then you know you were doing something right. Now a days businesses come and go and sometimes don't even last a year and here's a business that was in Burbank for 27 years! As a family we've celebrated birthdays, anniversaries, mother's day, father's day and this place has always served us like we were home. We were sad when it all transpired but grateful for all the memories. Thanks Market City!

What a loss! The brunches were fantastic, the bread divine, and the ravioli a guaranteed treat for the taste buds. I was first introduced by a waitress that I had a crush on decades ago, but it was always a reliable spot for a good Italian meal in Burbank. I'm not sure why it went away. It's easy to blame landlords in this day and age, but I'll miss it deeply. I hope everyone involved lands somewhere else OK, but I have to admit that my main concern is the fate of the cow!

So very sad that this restaurant has closed. I began my MCC experience at the Pasadena location and continued at Burbank when Pasadena closed. I loved everything about this restaurant... my favorite was to meet friends for Sunday brunch... the food was fresh, the Mimosas endless and the string quartet played anything and everything beautifully, Lovely afternoon, always felt like I was in Italy.....or a very artsy Burbank. RIP Market City Cafe! You will be sorely missed.

Sadly, this place is now closed for good. I think it was around for 27 years. I ate here once, several years ago. The food was pretty good, but a little pricey. I kept meaning to go back there, but sadly, will never get the chance now that they're gone. RIP Market City Cafe.

If there was an option to use zero stars on Yelp I would. I have been going to Market City for years, but today is the last day I will got to this restaurant. My family and I went today for dinner and had a terrible experience from the wait staff to the manager. The waitress had a terrible attitude from the start. We were trying to figure out why and the only thing we could think of is that we asked about their "kids eat free on Mondays and Saturdays" promotion. The kids menus state this. What they don't state is that it is only during certain times. We were told that there used to be a sign out front but they took it down. They also said that this has always been the policy but for some reason they decided not to print this on the kids menu. This alone wasn't the worst, but when we asked to speak to the manager to get some clarification on the policy we were met with a very rude and disrespectful person. She was very rude and ended the conversation by just walking away. I was very disappointed by the whole experience and will never go to this restaurant again.

Nice place with a cozy kind of feel. We had a party of 8 and the staff was friendly and attentive. The food came out in a decent amount of time. Menu mostly appeared to be pasta. They offer free fresh bread with oil and vinegar.

I brought 25 people for happy hour in the bar. They were. Wet accommodating and the prices for happy hour were great. I got a pizza that was tasty. I recommend

I decided to visit, because it is close to my new place and had a cool patio. I encountered a dirty table and was given a dirty menu. I tried to order wine from the menu and was told they no longer have it, haven't in fact had it for a long time. I was given stale bread and rancid flavorless oil to dip it in. I ordered the spaghetti with meatballs it was also flavorless. Will not be returning.

We hadn't tried this place in a while because they usually close too early for us to have dinner. We're late eaters and have walked by more than once on a weekend. There doors are often closed by 830. However, my boyfriend and I had a rare weekday when we were both free to go out for lunch together and wanted to go someplace close to home. As a disclaimer, I'm a pretty good cook with a discerning palate who also grew up in an east Coast Italian-American household with amazing food, so I'm especially picky with this sort of cuisine. Nevertheless, we decided to try this place again, as I remember it being halfway decent when we went there the first time a few years back. The restaurant is massive but was empty except for two other tables. The waiter brought us stale breadsticks and cheap olive oil (albeit in a bottle with aesthetically pleasing herbs). My man ordered "hand rolled" ravioli, I ordered their "drunken mussels" and a caprese salad to share. The Caprese came with a huge hunk of buffalo mozzarella, shredded basil and somewhat flavorless Roma tomatoes. It doesn't take much to make a good caprese other than fresh, high-quality ingredients and maybe a little olive oil, balsamic vinegar and fresh ground pepper but this was otherwise dry. I was really looking forward to those mussels since our server said they were a favorite there but I had to laugh when I looked up at the plate he left me and saw that it was, in fact, tiny Manila clams. I like clams well enough, was incredibly and hungry didn't want to waste food, so I figured I'd start eating what was in front of me since our waiter was off being oblivious somewhere. I tried my guy's ravioli and wasn't surprised to find that they were overcooked. When our server finally returned, I pointed out that someone in his kitchen must not know the difference between clams and mussels. He responded by shrugging and said he "wasn't an ambassador for the restaurant". No apology, no offer to correct this....nada. When he brought us the bill and mentioned the mistake again, he said absolutely nothing. The only reason I gave this place two stars is because the space is really lovely and in a prime location. It has the potential to be a real hotspot if they ever find proper management, a capable chef and a caring staff. Needless to say, we won't be returning until when and if that ever happens. I

So we were picking up friends from the Burbank airport and decided to leave earlier and have a beverage and appetizer in downtown Burbank. The outside lights and patio at Market City Caffe looked inviting so we procured a table. The location is perfect for people and car watching. We ordered a Sausage Fennel pizza and steamed clams. The wine choices are - sorry to say pitiful. We order a glass of Chardonnay from "California". They were out of the 2012 Chardonnay from Vanishing Point in Napa which is probably a good thing. When I asked for a seafood fork for the clams I was informed the restaurant does not have any seafood forks. The pizza was okay however not worth boxing up the leftovers. Overall, what could have been a terrific summer dinning experience was mediocre. We won't be back.

This Restaurant is one of the last places that has a true genuine feel in my opinion. The atmosphere of the restaurant is one of professional relaxation which is something you can't genuinely find all over these days which is quite a shame. The food is fresh and traditional which is unlike what most people are used to and is what I believe was the issue with some of the other reviews. I thought the portions were great and everything was in moderation. It is definitely a family place but also a place that you can use for a more professional gathering. I personally enjoyed the gnocchi which is the best I've ever had and I would recommend to any who likes gnocchi but you can also ask the waiters for their opinion and they will gladly and politely answer. The reason for such a positive review is that I personally feel it's hard to find a place where you can have traditional food that's good in an atmosphere that's real and if your like me and you miss having a dinner where you can take enjoy your meal and take a step back in such a fast pace world then this is the place for you!

We went to Market City Caffe last night. When we walked in they weren't bust for a Friday night but it still took about 10 minutes to get seated. When we did, it took our waitress a while to come to our table to take our drinks order and offer the bread. I got the salmon with broccoli on side and my girlfriend got their linguine with clams. The food also took a while to come out. The salmon was okay but it could've been cooked more and the brocolli just had no taste.

Went to Market City Cafe along with some colleagues, and a good time was had by all. Their pastas and pizzas are on point, and the music/ambience was pretty nice!

Market City Caffe is one of my favorite outdoor happy hour spots when it's nice outside. It's an easy transition indoors for dinner. Depending on what you order, it can be a little pricey for the portion size, but the service is always great and the happy hour drinks options are stellar. I love the multiple atmospheres, too.
