Boo! First, they did not have our reservation and they did not want to see our email confirmation, but they sat us in the near-empty restaurant anyway with a bit of attitude. I figured some big party must be coming to have created such a squabble over reservations. But, the big party never came. I debated on even leaving a review. We almost passed on this place a couple of times, but we are so glad we stayed for the meal. The food and wine were delicious and the owner was very nice. Give this place a try. This is a gem of a place off the beaten path. It's easy to miss because it's off of the busy Burlingame Avenue. My husband I happened upon it as we were looking for a quiet place for dinner. Ecco is a hidden neighborhood gem! Every time we come to Ecco for a meal, we are delighted to discover we get excellent service, have top quality food, find the atmosphere pleasant (yes, we can hear each other because of the quiet ambiance), never feel rushed, and find that the whole experience costs less than other (less satisfying) restaurants in the neighborhood.
