The food was amazing and ambience very nice. Highly recommend and will definitely go back.

My friend and I first went to Sapore's sister restaurant in San Mateo for lunch and found the food to be really tasty and delicious, so we decided to try dinner at the Burlingame location. Unfortunately we were really disappointed with the quality of the food at the Burlingame location. The Caesar salad was drowning in salad dressing to a point where it was a bit nauseating to finish. To be fair I should have asked the dressing to the side. They did however take my salad off my bill when I explained the salad dressing issue. However, it didn't stop there. I ordered the fish special and found the fish to be undercooked and ended up ordering a standard chicken dish from the menu. The chicken was definitely cooked and the sauce was average, nothing to write home about. The Tiramisu however was absolutely delicious!

The pros and cons dining out at Sapore Italiano. And please bear with me I don't do a lot of reviews on places that I eat out at. My wife and I have been going to this restaurant for a long time ever since we started dating and we usually have a good time there. Pros: great food, wine selection is good, full bar is a plus, the menu and specials were excellent. Cons: noise levels were very high that my elderly parents had a very hard time keeping track of conversations, parking is hit and miss, staff was not very friendly, service was slow and substandard, ordering drinks and food took forever, ordered appetizers that we never received but were charged for, and I feel like we were ignored by staff. The tables around us seemed to have gotten more attention than we did.

The restaurant is noisy and cramped. The service was poor and half of our order was never received. Menu items displayed on the website are deceiving. The short rib dinner was ordered and arrived with cold polenta and an overcooked piece of chuck roast. No one checked back with us to see if the dinner was okay and I was unable to catch the attention of anyone to request the polenta to be heated and out first course or starter, never arrived. The most present part of the evening was the bartender.

Got the Brussel sprouts which were good. All four of us got the vongole. It had a slightly funky taste to it. It wasn't the clams. We're thinking it was the pasta. We still ate it but don't plan on coming back. Disappointed.

Waited for an hour just to get our salads. Then one came with anchovies and the other didn't. Then waited another 10-15 to get our meals. On a Tuesday night. They said it was because the had a big party, but that's unacceptable to other paying guests. No concern or apologies were given.

Outstanding food, impeccable service, the only reason it didn't get 5 Stars is because it was noisy upstairs. Mainly because there was a very large group and they were trying to speak to everyone. Otherwise it was a great way to celebrate my birthday with family.

Excellent food, service and ambiance. Recommend dining on the early side if noise is an issue for your group. Will definitely go back.

We had a family dinner for our group of 6 and thoroughly enjoyed it. Everyone loved their food ranging from gnocchi to eggplant parmesan. Our service was excellent and the manager is the most friendly Italian!
