Sapore Italiano Ristorante

The food and service were outstanding, especially the gnocchi with the Gorgonzola sauce - a must try. Unfortunately, halfway through our meal, a big party arrived and we felt a bit rushed. Still, this is a true neighborhood gem and definitely on my list to try again.

The food was very disappointing. I chose an option because of all components of the meal, but when the meal came it didn't have the vegetables that were on the menu. I would have chosen a different entree had I known. The food was mediocre at best

Beautiful evening in Burlingame. We sat outdoors where it was warm past 9 PM, in the 70s.
Alfresco dining at its best. Our server was Fernanda. She was awesome. So fun to talk to - trying to place her accent. You have to go and visit her on Sundays and check it out and see if you can guess correctly. I think we went through almost a dozen countries before getting it correct. So much fun!
Anyway, to get to the food. The tomato based olive oil to go with their focaccia bread was amazing. The deep fried zucchini flower was also excellent. The fry was perfection. Branzino was completely deboned and yummy. As was the rigatoni. We were totally stuffed, but at Fernanda’s recommendation, we ordered the tiramisu. It was the best tiramisu we’ve had. The whipped cream filling was light and fluffy as was the cake which was rum soaked. Not your typical heavier finger lady tiramisu. IMHO much better!
We will definitely be back on another Sunday.

Mel the bartender keeps the bar flowing and her personality is always on point. Monday through Wednesdays 4-9 plus happy hour 4-530pm

Seated at 6:05 with toddlers, received no bread until asked, insufficient number of glasses for water, and appetizer/food arrived over an hour later (after 7:00). Wait staff was seemingly preoccupied with a large party event and other tables. Food was good but the wait and lack of service will have me consider going elsewhere next time.

Excellent service, the food was very good and the prices are quite reasonable. Another great evening.

Had a reservation. Party behind us, without a reservation, attended to first. Treated us like we were less than equal. And we had our wedding reception here 2 years ago. Couldn't believe it.

Excellent service by Sahara.
I have celiac disease and Sahara was knowledgeable of my gluten free diet needs and was able to help me navigate the menu. I ended up getting the Rustico pasta with gluten free pasta. The meal was delicious and i’m pretty sure I will become a regular here. Thank you!

Not a good Italian restaurant. The food was bland, and even for American Italian it was a bit weird. The service was terrible. I had to ask for silverware and then still had to ask for napkins.. how does this make sense at a restaurant?
The room was extremely loud and it was hard to hold a conversation.

My friend and I first went to Sapore's sister restaurant in San Mateo for lunch and found the food to be really tasty and delicious, so we decided to try dinner at the Burlingame location. Unfortunately we were really disappointed with the quality of the food at the Burlingame location. The Caesar salad was drowning in salad dressing to a point where it was a bit nauseating to finish. To be fair I should have asked the dressing to the side. They did however take my salad off my bill when I explained the salad dressing issue. However, it didn't stop there. I ordered the fish special and found the fish to be undercooked and ended up ordering a standard chicken dish from the menu. The chicken was definitely cooked and the sauce was average, nothing to write home about. The Tiramisu however was absolutely delicious!

My chicken was undercooked and some parts were so raw!! I found it difficult to say something, I’ve never been served raw chicken before. It was terrible! They still charged me after I said I didn’t want anything. Plus they forgot my wine, the one drink I ordered. I do not recommend this place.
