Food, wine and service were outstanding. We had halibut and black cod. Both were as good as we have ever had!

Solbar is a beautiful spot tucked into Napa Valley perfect for a relaxing, elevated lunch in between wine tastings. The setting is calm and peaceful, which we really appreciated. You could actually hear each other talk which is rare and refreshing these days.

I popped in with two girlfriends for a late lunch, and the service was excellent from start to finish. Our server was warm, attentive, and helpful with the menu. We ordered a variety of dishes to share: the lettuce wraps were fresh and flavorful, the sourdough rolls with spinach dip hit the spot, and the fish tacos were light and delicious. We also shared drinks and the “Lite Lunch,” which was a fun way to sample a few things.

The only miss unfortunately a big one were the Solbar Nuggets. They came out overly greasy and just weren’t edible. None of us could get through them, and that was disappointing, especially at this price point. What left an even worse taste in our mouths (no pun intended) was that our server acknowledged the issue and wanted to comp them, but management refused. For a nearly $200 lunch, that lack of flexibility felt out of step with the rest of the experience.

Great service, beautiful setting, mostly solid food but that one moment really stuck us.

Not impressed. The rather expensive shrimp were old and of low quality. The wine list is interesting but overpriced and mainly in the $100+ price point. The outside tables are basically poolside with service and experience that goes with that. Would not return or recommend

Love this place. One thing they could improve is umbrellas for the AM, was tough to arrange the ones they have and remain comfortable. I think Solbar is best in the evening though after the sun has set it’s incredibly pleasant.

Got the hot pot and specialty molasses old fashioned. (I don't recall what it was called.) I found the hot pot to be pretty bland. I would strongly suggest something else. The old fashioned tasted like I was just drinking watered down blackstrap molasses, ruining what was supposed to be a pretty good bourbon. So, I guess I made the wrong choices. The Korean chicken was wonderful, and the rest of my party was happy with their meal (most got fish) and drinks.

I had dinner here two evenings in a row while staying in the Solage. The food is fabulous - every dish has touches of originality, and all are made to perfection. Even the schnitzel (which I expected to be a mundane dish) was original and exciting.

The service is friendly and attentive; all our special demands were met with aplomb.

We had an amazing wagyu cheese burger and BLT sandwich for lunch.

Amazing views and super comfortable views next to the pool.

Would recommend for lunch.

The standout aspect of this restaurant is the food. Absolutely delicious dishes clearly made with high quality ingredients. It’s amazing. The atmosphere is romantic and charming with the patio dimly lit and outdoor heaters available for guests. This is not a “quick bite” experience so give yourself time to experience each course. The Sonoma Coast Pinot was the perfecting pairing for the beef short rib.

Went to Solbar for dinner during the first night of my solo vacation to Napa Valley. I also went to breakfast several times at Solbar.

Such an intimate atmosphere. Love the fireplace inside while enjoying a nourishing meal.

For dinner, I had the sake marinated cod dish with a glass of Russian Reserve Pinot Noir. For breakfast, I had the Silverado breakfast while sitting outside next to the fire pit.

Shoutout to Kelly who made my dining experience so memorable.

This was my third time to come here for brunch and it again didn’t disappoint. It came on sunny weekday where it wasn’t too crowded and was seated outside. The service was great . Everything what we ordered was amazing . We had Wagyu burger , ceviche and fish tacos. The burger was so juicy and had perfect balance between fat and acidity of sauce. If you are visiting Calistoga, I highly recommend this place for brunch !

Be aware. If something unexpected happens and your plans change, solbar will charge you $25 per person to cancel. They are really struggling right now and really need the money. Since no one is visiting the restaurant , if you cancel, they don’t have anyone else to fill your seat. But they feel better with $25. Thanks solbar.

Really great views. Food and service have traditionally been excellent, but we may have caught them on a bad night. I enjoyed my halibut tremendously, but others at the table were less happy with their choices. Another favorite of the table was the schnitzel. The food has evolved over time to high-end dishes like one might expect at a Michelin star restaurant, which it is. Less friendly for people who like simpler dishes. On the service, I think they were simply overwhelmed as it looks like guests all came in later than normal.

Have been here several times. The food and service are always excellent. The sommelier N is very knowledgeable and friendly each time. Casual setting outdoor setting, with high end vibe on food. Beautiful plates with enough to eat as well. Micheal the server is also fantastic!
