booked a room for 2 nights stayed for 1. easily 1 of the scariest nights of my life. if u have to stay here.. make sure to never answer the room phone if someone at the front desk calls & watch ur back in the parking garage. especially if u are a female traveling solo.

I booked this hotel months ago for a birthday weekend. Upon arrival, construction crews were onsite with workers, dirt, and equipment everywhere. I was looking forward to the advertised wine and beer tap wall, just to find out it wasn’t available. When I questioned why we were not notified of the construction she stated that it was unexpected and that the construction was supposed to be done two weeks ago. I encountered two additional guests who were extremely upset and were told the same thing. Another reviewer received a response that they were referring to the broken spa- which was a lie. No apology or offer of discount or refund was made. They refused to provide the corporate office contact information. The place although in an extremely excellent location is in disrepair. All of the hand sanitizer stations were empty, including the one just outside the “Wellness Center”. Unfortunately we will never stay here again and will be contacting Pacifica Host in San Diego to discuss this issue and formally request a refund.

I am utterly sorry for my review- which was sent accidentally while my phone went on it’s on path in my pocket. Thank you for your quick and kind response - I am happy to change my review to 5 stars

Our experience here was HORRIBLE. Most, if not all, amenities we paid for were closed to us without notice. We were excited to relax at their wine and beer tap bar, it was closed. We were excited to use the jacuzzi, it was closed. All “spa” amenities were disgusting and not clean at all. The hotel staff was less than receptive about our complaints. The hotel was under “unexpected” construction. When we asked about it, they told us that the construction crew showed up “randomly and late”, which isn’t the truth. We learned, after finding a review from TWO WEEKS ago, that “unexpected” construction was happening then too. The lies and lack of hospitality is gross. Our shower was filled with mildew and mold, there is a jagged piece cut out of our bath that is a safety hazard, all hand sanitizer stations in the hotel are empty. Their elevator permit is expired. Disappointing to say the least that we spent so much to stay at a place that lied about what was offered. Hopefully this “unexpected construction” makes this place better.

A beautiful, well located hotel resort. Rooms have gorgeous woodlands views. Huge bathtubs, recent renovation, and underground parking. Lisa, the hotel manager, is very friendly and helpful. The wellness center, located on the top floor, is small but features an outdoor spa, private rooms, massage suites, and a steam room.

Pleasant, private, peaceful are all words that describe El Colibri Hotel and Spa. My wife and I enjoyed our stay, the room was recently renovated, its walking distance to the ocean, and the in room fireplace was cozy and romantic.

Next to highway very noisy, and the window won’t fully close making it even worse. Also the WiFi is very slow.

The room was beautiful. Fantastic massages. Daytime front desk person friendly. No nighttime person to contact? However, there was a yellow sticky note on the front desk for you to call. No security guard? No physical person to contact starting at 2000? Not informed at any time that that was the situation? A little frightening.Rooms: Rooms fantastic with great views.Safety: No front desk person at night-time. No security guard watching/ protecting the property?

We stayed at this hotel last night. My wife booked two massages before we arrived, but we were told upon arrival by the front desk that they didn't have a masseuse available. They would let us know if they found one. After we left this morning, they charged my card for the two missed appointments. This is really bad customer service. We will not be going back. I had to call my credit card company to reverse the charges.

My husband and I booked a horse back riding trip and booked this hotel because it was 8 minutes away and we're so glad we did! The front desk girls are really nice and helpful. We booked the room with the jacuzzi tub and it was sooo relaxing! I loved the fireplace we will definitely book this hotel again in the future!

For what I was looking for, it was perfect. The lady at the front desk was warm and friendly. The room was spacious with big windows that opened to a tree area with a lot of privacy. I heard the ocean all night long. The bed was very comfortable. I barely heard or saw any other guests during our stay. The hot tub and steam room were great. I slept great. Price was reasonable. Checked off all my boxes.

The cutest, most relaxing hotel with the perfect location! It's a few minutes' walk to Moonstone Beach, as well as nearby restaurants and shopping. Parking is underground or in the small lot, and free.I loved that our room was spacious and had a working, electric fireplace and good AC. The jacuzzi was nice, too... we ordered pizzas and brought them up. The front lobby area has vending machines and sells drinks, snacks, wine bottles, and they also have a self-pour wine and beer tap wall. You use a card to pour as much as you want, then get charged at the end, and it's 24/7. So convenient! Only downside is that the lobby is pretty stark and bare... not cozy to hang out in and very minimalist. I see other reviewers talking about breakfast, but we were told we would be charged for fruit, yogurt, water and snacks that were in the lobby. Front lobby/office doesn't match the warmth of the rest of the hotel and seems more like a motel.I'd still love to come back... the location is everything!

Checked in and out with Lisa then cesar, both quick and professional. Warm clean rooms and lobby, with the fireplace a plus! Heated jacuzzi outside and easy safe parking here.
