Sea Chest Oyster Bar Reviews
Delicious food and welcoming environment. Worth the 30 minute wait! Beautiful view excellent food I had the scampi fettuccine which was soooo good. My friend had the calamari steak which needed salt but was cooked well.
Best dinner hands down!! Our server Nikki was amazing and didn’t blink when I said I was gluten free. She even went the extra step to have a sauce made for my meal.
This restaurant was fun to visit. The atmosphere and service was top notch! Food was good but on par with other restaurants in the area. We went on a Monday evening in a group of 11. Arrived 15 mins before opening and the line was already wrapping around the parking lot but we were able to get in and seated with the first wave.

Sea Chest Oyster Bar is a popular seafood restaurant in Cambria known for its fresh food and lively atmosphere. The restaurant is famous for its halibut, which many consider the best on the Central Coast. Other favorite dishes include calamari, clam chowder, garlic bread, and the shrimp and scallop scampi, which visitors often praise. The cioppino, great for sharing, remains a favorite among regular customers. Many guests enjoy waiting outside with beach chairs and wine, taking in the ocean view and meeting new people. On Saturday nights, live music adds to the charming vibe in the outside waiting area. The fresh fish is highly appreciated, and even the sides are praised for their quality. Service is friendly and efficient, but the cash-only policy and no reservations can make the experience challenging. The restaurant can get crowded, especially around 7-7:30 pm, with many guests arriving for the second seating. Despite the wait, customers say the overall experience is a "well-orchestrated symphony" and "beyond definition." Prices are very reasonable for the quality, and the fresh seafood and lively ambiance make it a favorite for locals and visitors alike. The restaurant is especially known for its calamari steaks with chowder, baked oysters, and the scampi linguini, which are all highly recommended. Visitors often line up early, bringing their own chairs to secure a spot at the oyster bar. The nautical vibe and outdoor fireplace add to the charm, making it an unforgettable dining experience.
