We got there at the moment the door opened due to an unfortunate let down at swatch, so needless to say that we weren’t in the best of moods.That being said, from the moment we walked up, to being greeted and seated, the staff created an environment that was very warm welcoming.Our server was Manny and we could not have been happier with the service from ordering, to presentation, to recommendations on the order of meats we should grill, to bringing our check. The entire time we were so pleased by the service that though we were let down by another business, we left Topanga Mall very happy and satisfied.?We got the Meat Lovers order for 2, BOMB!!!

Used to really love going to this place back in 2019 and before, but I noticed that due to Covid, the service dropped significantly. From management to staff. After about two years of not ordering from there, I recently got delivery. They had issues ignoring order instructions in the past and unfortunately still do, as my order for specific sauces (teriyaki) wasn't fulfilled. You have to actually dine in for them to actually give you what you've requested.

Came here for the first time and had a great experience. Our server Jay was the epitome of a great server. He went above and beyond to make sure we were well taken care of. The food was also delicious, especially the garlic button mushrooms and the harami pot. I look forward to coming back soon!

We came today and had such an awesome experience.Glenn was our server, and he was fantastic. He was attentive and made sure we had everything we needed/wanted. Bacon chips, cucumbers, and spicy shrimp were the best. Glenn even made sure we had drinks to go, which was super sweet.Thanks for a fabulous lunch! We'll be back.

Walked up to the front desk, we requested a table for two, the two employees standing at the front counter, went back and fourth with each other in a immature manner as to who would help us with our request, ( our request was to dine in at the establishment) after such encounter we decided to take our business and hard earned money elsewhere.

I decided to take my best friend, whom I haven't seen for awhile, to one of the best Japanese meat places since he loves meats. I got the reservation @ 2pm and got there on time. We were seated right away. Unfortunately , we were warned that they don't have all you can eat at the moment, because they ran out of meats due to Valentine's day. Are they serious??? Valentine's day was Wednesday and we were there a couple of days later!!! Anyway, we took it since we were famished. If we weren't, I could've driven to Sherman Oaks or Valencia...so disappointing! Food was less, mediocre, and a bit overpriced. Atmosphere was okay. Just wished they replaced the tables-they looked old and dirty. Service was really good. The worse part our experience was the restroom. The floor leading to the restroom looked shabby. The women's restroom was so dingy, run down, and neglected! There are three stalls; only one of them works. It was a mess; toilet papers all over the place. It wasn't even busy, how come nobody could clean it?? My best friend also complained about the men's restroom-how dirty it was. I was so embarrassed. I haven't seen him in 2 years and I decided to take him here. It was definitely a huge disappointment. I think that would be my last time dining at least in this location!

The booth that we were sat in had a bad odor to it, as if it was body fluids not cleaned up properly. It was so bad that we needed to be moved. The grill in the booth that we were moved too did not get hot and it took a long time to cook the food. The grill was on the hottest setting. They did not have any sauce bottles on the table. They said they were all broken. The bar area was closed with the chairs on the tables. This seems unfortunate because it was Super Bowl Sunday at 1pm. Most of the restaurant looked closed off. As a person that's gone to this Gyu Kaku for almost a decade, I can honestly say that this location has gone downhill. Our experience was not to the level that we expect from the gyu kaku brand. I will go the extra miles to Sherman oaks or Torrance next time.

Had dinner with my husband tonight and we were extremely disappointed by the service. Food has always been great and we've been to different Gyu locations before but it's been a while since we've been to this location.It was busy for a Thursday night, but not too busy to forget the basic things. Our server forgot to provide tongs for us when he delivered our meats and we had to request it. We also had to ask for the sauces. The other locations we've been to always serve it without us asking for it, so I was surprised that we had to ask for it at this location. We got the All You Can Eat option and we waited for a long time for our second order of meats to be delivered - we had already finished eating our first round of meats. When they delivered our second order, we ordered our 3rd round of meats thinking that they would be delivered by the time we finished our second round. Nope, it was still late. Our server didn't pay attention to us. He didn't even change our grill even when we requested for it to be changed. He spent more time at the table next to us and ignored us. We had to call him over multiple times but he still prioritized the other tables over us. They also served one of our meat orders to another table (we heard them mention it) and they never even bothered to send us a replacement. Since it was an All You Can Eat option, we didn't make a fuss about it and just ordered another.This location is the closest to our house but we would never come back because of the service that we received tonight. The servers were harried, were not courteous, and we were ignored the whole time we were there.We don't like servers who hover and we're not demanding when we go to restaurants. But we do expect to be served promptly.
