Ordered two po boys, excited to try some cajun food, but neither came with a side of fries like we expected. We asked the servers, who responded that it didn't come with a side, but then why would the menu state otherwise that it comes with a side option? Suuuper expensive food for just a fried sandwich. And it wasn't all that great. Fried ok but there was no flavor---which is the whole point for coming somewhere Cajun centered. The fountain drink flavors were all off (don't know if it was the tap or lack of syrup to compensate). Just altogether not a great experience. At least the servers weren't rude.

This was a very surprising find for me. I ordered online one evening with 0 expectations and I was very pleasantly surprised. The fried chicken po boy is, in my opinion, absolutely delicious. I ordered the same sandwich the next day. That's how delicious lol. I've been ordering regularly since then. Happy to have this option in Santa Cruz!

Food was very salty and oily. The po boy that cost $18 didn't come with any Cole slaw and fries like it said. The only thing going for them were the hush puppies.

Had a Groupon for a stew, tried the jambalaya which was delicious, very flavorful. I’ve only tried jambalaya once many years ago in Louisiana and it definitely reminded me of that wonderful trip! Also had the best green fried tomatoes I’ve ever had the pleasure of eating. Even my 3 year old who hates tomatoes loved them. I recommend and will be back.

Best PoBoy in Santa Cruz county. We come here often and I love the atmosphere and food Definitely my family's top 5 picks and that's hard with 4 kids who all usually pick different things. Customer service is good

Food was great. I am always on the lookout for Cajun/Creole foods that I opt not to make or haven't perfected. The food did not disappoint.

We recently drove all the way to Capitola just for lunch to try Roux Dat based on a recommendation. We were definitely not disappointed! We are well traveled and the food here is amazing, much better than anything we've had in the South, even in New Orleans itself. I had the shrimp and corn etouffee and my husband had the fennel and portabella mushroom jambalaya (which happens to be vegan, even though my husband is not). My point is that even a carnivore will enjoy the vegan and vegetarian offerings here. For dessert we had the beignets, which were very good. I am writing this review while my husband is driving us back to Roux Dat because we both kept thinking about it being so good! Most definitely worth the drive. This time I think we will each take an order to go in addition to our dine-in order so we can enjoy their fantastic food again tomorrow.

Native of Lafayette, Louisiana and found this place to be very similar in taste to Louisiana food. They have both Creole (tomato based) and Cajun (roux based) dishes. I gave it four stars because the sausage wasn't andouille as advertised and the king cake should have been warmed up. But overall, I'd go back and eat again!

Fried Green Tomatoes are a "do not miss". Gumbo is delicious. Rare to find this type of food in this area! I hope they are able to keep it going.

Day trip in Capitola, wanted good food, came here and was not disappointed! I wanted Cajun food because I'm going to New Orleans in a few weeks. The hardest part was deciding what to order, everything on the menu sounded amazing. Food was delicious, cute decor, and really nice service. Also, easy parking. This place is definitely worth a visit.
