Great service! Susan is soo sweet and gave us good options to choose from. I love shrimp, Susan suggested a few options. I tried the Super Mexican roll. It was delicious. My partner chose the Salmon Lover roll and it was also just as good. The pieces are large and i really appreciate that. Rolls were made fresh and prompt.We stopped by for dinner around 5:45pm. Not super busy just yet. There is indoor seating and outdoor seating. Plenty of parking. Highly reccomend coming here if you love sushi like we do.

Stumbled on to this place when checking out the closing of Bed Bath and Beyond. Wanted to try the Mexican restaurant next door, but this one caught our eye. Glad it did. It is our "go to" sushi place now. Never went into the Mexican restaurant. Plenty of those, but a good sushi chef is a rare thing. Ordered almost the entire menu over a few trips and all of it is great. I lived in Japan for 3 1/2 years and know sushi. Nothing like Japan over here, but Wasabi comes the closest.

The Black Tiger is by far my favorite roll! Susan, the server, is always kind to me and makes me feel great about coming in. I like that they have outside and inside dining. I highly recommend this place.

Hands down the best sushi in town. I've tried others but always come back for the baked salmon roll and the Volcano. Plus the cooks are so nice!

i have eaten here in the past and its always been decent. But today i had a horrible experience, the spicy tuna on my roll was so runny it would not stay in the actual roll, it had the texture of applesauce. I was so grossed out I asked for something else and it was equally as bad. my days going there are over. very unfortunate.
If I could rate this 6 stars, I would. The food was amazing and the fish was high quality. The tempura was also the best I've ever had. The tea was delicious. They did mess up our order and gave us a different dish than we asked but then corrected it and gave us the right dish so we technically got a free roll. They gave us our food surprisingly fast and usually sushi restaurants give small amounts but they have us a large amount. Super friendly.

I’ve been on a mission to find the best sushi in Santa Cruz. This was my #1. Great prices, friendly staff, and the best fish quality in all of Santa Cruz county. This is a hidden gem, not a lot of people know about it. I will definitely return!! So good!

Other sushi restaurants in the area had long wait times, so we came here and soon realized why it was almost empty. They served us the most unappetizing sushi I have ever seen! The tuna was a strange color, and the other fish did not look fresh enough to eat. The menu was not very expansive or varied - all their rolls had imitation crab in them. And the price was as much as at a high quality sushi place! Next time I will make reservations and go somewhere else!
