Good food for the price!!
Had a load to drop off in Carlsbad. First time here and first time in the city/ state. The service from host to server was great. The food was great. Took leftovers and got dessert AND took dessert for later with us. My only complaint is, why our pies look all busted up? Ruby's Diner offers a classic diner experience with a touch of 80-90s theme. The service is excellent, and the food receives high praise, particularly the mushroom Swiss burger with its generous toppings and meat portion. The diner can get loud with young children, but that doesn't take away from the great food and overall enjoyable experience. The shakes are also a must-try. It is conveniently located near Legoland, making it a popular spot for families after a day at the park. The restaurant provides a family-friendly environment with many food options for kids and activities to keep them busy while waiting for their meals. The food at this location is consistently great, and the atmosphere captures a fun, retro vibe reminiscent of a 50s style diner. The service is often described as extraordinary, especially when serving large parties. Parking can be difficult because the diner is situated in a busy shopping center, but the proximity to Legoland and the lively environment make it a recommended choice for a casual, enjoyable meal. Vegetarian options like the Impossible Burger are available for an additional fee, giving more choices for different diets. Customers enjoy the pancakes and Benedicts with hash browns, and burgers are well cooked and prepared. While tacos and burritos are not usually ordered, breakfast items and burgers remain popular choices. Recent visitors have been pleasantly surprised by the quick service, quality, and generous portions of food, often recommending it to others. The friendly staff and lively atmosphere help make every visit enjoyable, and the restaurant’s environment brings back nostalgic memories for many guests. The Ruby's club sandwich is a favorite, and attentive service ensures drinks like strawberry lemonade are refilled without needing to ask.
