5th Ave Deli & Catering Cafe is such a charming spot! We stopped in for some takeout to enjoy a picnic at the beach, and it was a great choice. The service was warm and friendly, making the experience even better. The sandwiches were not only affordable but also offered a wide variety of options, along with drinks and snacks. The quality of the food was solid, and the personal service really made it stand out. Definitely recommend this place, and I’ll be sure to return next time I’m in the area!

Fantastic sandwich, fair prices and kind staff. I witnessed one of the employees give a drink to a patron who was purchasing a sandwich but would have struggled to buy a Gatorade. It was a heart warming moment that made me want to give them all my business.

A must stop for picnic food before heading to the beach or Big Sur. An impressive variety of food for a tiny place. The food is consistently good and the sandwich veegetables crisp and fresh. Not much space for waiting for your sandwich but always nice conversations with other patrons heading out on their adventure.

In Carmel you have two choices for lunch:
1. A sit-down place where they likely serve you a nice clean plate that is at 5% capacity in food content. $100 evaporates from your wallet the moment it hits the table.
2. Come to this deli and order a delightfully fresh $8 sandwich. Request a roll instead of bread so you can eat it on the move. Head down to the beach and enjoy this beautiful part of the world.
As I get older, more on more things slip from my memory - but the tuna salad I had from here will not.

The Best cozy Deli in Carmel by the Sea!!!! The atmosphere, The sandwiches to die for, home made soup and the Best service in town. I totally recomend to stop here. No tables to seat, however keep walking to the corner of 5ifth Ave & Dolores and you will find tables & chairs under neath a tree. What a relaxing way to have lunch. Thank you Fifth Ave Deli for a wonderful experience. 🥰

We got a Meatloaf sandwich, Chicken Tortilla soup and Potato salad. Went to the beach and picnicked while watching the beautiful waves crash. With great prices and good food, you can’t get much better than that!
