We got a Meatloaf sandwich, Chicken Tortilla soup and Potato salad. Went to the beach and picnicked while watching the beautiful waves crash. With great prices and good food, you can’t get much better than that!

Great deli for lunch in Carmel. They have a huge selection of food, friendly workers, super affordable prices, and the food tastes fantastic. The pork tamales, samosas, and chicken sandwich were great.

I’ve never been so disappointed by a sandwich as I was by 5th Ave Deli. My wife and I came in to pick up two turkey sandwiches to bring down to Big Sur on our roadtrip. We get to a beautiful overlook to eat them, open them up, and we were just stunned. Two slices of turkey, one slice of cheese, two tomatoes, and one piece of lettuce. They were candidly the most pathetic sandwiches we’ve ever seen.

If this is how employees are instructed to make sandwiches, then charge more and put more in the sandwich. But this was a joke and ruined our lunch as we basically ate bread with a tiny bit of turkey and cheese.

Wanted to live this little sandwich shop but unfortunately the sandwiches we got were small and not great. Skimpy amount of ingredients. However, the people there are nice.

So I had read the reviews and loved the idea of boxed lunch for a day out at Point Lobos. My friend and I stopped by and picked up to box lunches. The staff was great and friendly, and it's a cute shop. But.. the chicken curry sandwich was soggy and tasteless.. no curry to speak of and I struggled to find chicken. The green apple was different as well, but the only really tasty part. My friends turkey sandwich was meh.. the rest of the box was ok. The key lime bar and chocolate cake were good. And my friend liked the pesto salad.

The chili from 5th Avenue Deli will change your life. It is miraculous. I do not generally seek out chili…However, this warm, rich and flavorful chili has not only reversed my chili seeking behavior, it has made a 5th Ave. Deli chili devotee out of this native and local. I recommend the chili for life!
May I also suggest the Reuben and the Harris Ranch Tri-Tip!

Visited 6/18/24. A good takeout option and not overpriced for the area. Pepper turkey on rye, curry chicken salad. Tasty and fresh made. Small market, seems to be a friendly family.

Super friendly staff, very helpful and always a pleasure to deal with (seems like they're a family, and a great one at that). Food is delicious and a great variety of options. Generous portions, love both their breakfast and lunch sandwiches.
