Can't go wrong with Il Fornaio! Last time we were here was 5 years ago but the service, food, and ambiance are still top notch.
While there were only 1-2 dishes that were vegetarian on each section of the menu, it was enough for us to be full and have a variety of tastes. Recommend the minestrone!
The butternut squash ravioli was pretty unique too and very well done but I think it could use less brown sugar on top.
Only 4 stars on the atmosphere because there were a lot of flies, which was annoying.

the waiter was super dismissive, cold, and rushed us through our dinner. the soup he gave me was lukewarm. generally did not feel welcome in this restaurant and for the price we are paying, the service was bad. the food was okay but not worth the price and bad service.

Food is okay but the service and atmosphere really bring it down. Had to flag down a server after being seated for 10 minutes to get water. Our server was deeply unaware of the menu and how to properly space out our meal. Entrees came maybe 10 minutes after they dropped the apps and we had clear all of the plates ourselves. Compared to all of the other amazing restaurants in Carmel this is just so far below the bar.

My family and I got there on a Sunday evening thinking it would be busy, other than us there were about two tables. We first entered through the wrong entrance twice before getting it right, however, not one staff member told us we were at the wrong entrance, the bartenders just looked at us and looked away. We got to the right entrance but there was no one there to host us. There was one server going between the tables, the two bartenders, and the cooks that we could see since they are very close to the entrance. Not ONE of them told us a simple “we’ll be right there with you”, they just looked at us. We stayed there a couple minutes but then decided to leave to the other restaurant, just as we were about to leave a girl came running to us. We thought that were would finally get some good customer service, she got behind the hostess table and just stared at us, we then said can we get a table please to which she just said, “ok”. The waiter was great they were pretty nice and took care of everyone else. We saw other people start to come in later, no hostess in site. The first impression of this restaurant was pretty bad , it was unfortunate because we were there to celebrate a birthday and honestly just felt uncomfortable. I was very disappointed with this, I even wished we had gone to another restaurant, and as a colored family we couldn’t help but to think we were being discriminated. It was a real shame and can't say I will be visiting again.

Best prices for this caliber of restaurant in town (that we found). The food was top notch, atmosphere was pristine and the views were great. Would absolutely come back here again.
Parking: Park very far away and walk.

Excellent Italian cuisine. We tried the minestrone soup, the fardiavola pizza (without the sausage), and the ravioli zukka. There were all delicious. But the ravioli had only six pieces and was expensive. A comment about the service, we got the main dishes first and then the soup. Suggestions: 1. Reduce the price and increase the portion size of the pasta: the ravioli, the casaresse and the lasagna. 2. Bring the dishes to the customers in the right order. Overall, tasty Italian cuisine.
Vegetarian options: Ravioli zukka and pizza margherita.
Parking: There is public parking but it is usually full. There is street parking.

My wife and I stopped for lunch/ wine on the patio - absolutely wonderful experience from ambiance to the delicious food (Zucchine alla Parmigiana and the Ravioli Zucca e Amaretto). Lastly, our server, Francisco, was also incredibly knowledgeable, kind, and attentive - easy 5 stars.

We are safe....??
After 3 weeks of terrible food we finally saw the light...
Ordered the tagliatelle bolognese and the pizza cristina without the truffle oil and they were both delicious.
Thanks Il Fornaio!
