Although we are frequent visitors to Carmel, this was our 1st experience @ L'Escargot.... and definitely not our last! This was our Anniversary Dinner.... The beautiful warm set set was perfect for outdoor dining. The escargot appetizer was done nicely, petrale sole's delicate flavor was not masked by the herb sauce; the classic French Boeuf Bourgogne took me back to our favorite brasserie in Paris!! Service was great. Every time I take someone here for the first time, they love it. The cocktails were tasty. The lobster risotto was excellent. The ratatouille pasta was a big hit. The beef wellingtons were delicious, as were the deserts. Always a great meal!
The menu was varied and all of us enjoyed our entrees. From sole to Beef Wellington it was perfectly prepared with appropriate portions. Noise level was on the quiet side which made conversation enjoyable. It was an excellent experience.
