The outdoor sushi restaurant was dog friendly, which we appreciated and the food itself was good. Service was just OK not great but not terrible. However, what really ruined the experience for us was the staff allowed two men to walk around selling candy bars for their kids basketball team the host even bought some candy from them and the men went from table to table interrupting everyone, including us while we were trying to enjoy our meal. They were also allowing inside the dining area which felt completely inappropriate for any restaurant it came across as very tacky and honestly lowered our whole atmosphere between that and the restrooms not being very clean. We've decided we won't be returning.

Had a wonderful dinner at Toro last night! Food was delicious (best Gyoza I've ever had!) and our server Brad was wonderful. Very attentive! We sat outside which was lovely last night too.

Really fantastic meal. Our waiter was lovely and attentive. The food was so good. Highlights were the gyoza, the tempura shishitos, maguro, and the panna cotta. Definitely recommend if you're in town and craving sushi.

Fantastic all the time. Even their house salad and dressing is delicious. Our server last night ordered what he thought we'd like and it was amazing. HIGHLY recommend this place. You won't regret it!!

Service was great. Agedashi had no bonito flakes and they used firm tofu not soft! Sushi was ok. We were more impressed with the shisito peppers stuffed with wagyu ground beef as an appetizer. Tempura shrimp and veggies were heavily breaded and shrimp was tiny. Dipping sauce was good. We ordered the shortts crunch roll and a rainbow roll. Underwhelming presentation and taste. It'll suffice given that it's read highest in Carmel by the sea.

Such a nice local spot and it was a new find for us. The sushi was prepared top notch. We could have eaten less (but why) yum.

Miso soup and salad appetizers were good, noodles and salmon and the crunch roll (?) were ok...not bad, not great. But the place was dirty, there was cooked rice on my seat cushion and miscellaneous scraps on the floor and the table top was sticky. Maybe just a busy night, but a dirty restaurant is a bit of a turn off.

The staff and environment made the dinner a splendid one. Thank you for a wonderful first time!

Had a great experience prior, but this one was as disappointing. Quality and detail to presentation seems to have degraded.

The service was second to none. I don't typically leave reviews but what a wonderful place to share one night in Carmel.

Wonderful fresh fish with a good assortment of things besides the big three. Creative roles and other dishes. Great service and a nice wine and sake list. We will definitely be back. Of course, since it's sushi, it ain't cheap.

Finally decided to try Toro and I have to say it was disappointing. The shortts crunch was the worst sushi roll I think I’ve ever had. Our group overalls was deeply disappointed with the quality of the rolls. They were not well made, falling apart, and lacking flavor. While the server & staff members were nice our server was not attentive. Overall for 3 rolls, an app, and 3 non-alcoholic beverages for $100 it just did not feel worth it.

We went during car week. Just figured we'd stroll by and have lunch while we check out a few cars. Food was great, service wasn't though. Slow and it didnt even seem like they were packed.
