Wonderful ambience for close friends to simply have a giood time and catching up on their lives.
Went after a hike, and I definitely felt out of place. Thought we would check this one out for a glass on a lovely afternoon. Perhaps it was the way we were dressed, the girl helping us barely greeted us and made us feel really unwelcome. The wine was just so so and very overpriced for the quality. This place has been very hyped up, but for us it will be a 1 and done. Won't be back, there are so many other choices. Corral has a lovely new spot, go there! (Gave 1 extra star as the space was pretty and the day was lovely).
Great location. Beautiful backdrops and quiet (no kids) space. Try the 2018 Lindsey Pinot
Once again, we had a perfect afternoon at Pelio! Catherine greeted us with her fabulous smile and a splash of Rose to start to our tasting experience. Matt was wonderful. He’s knowledgeable about the wines and engages in discussion easily. Our guests from Idaho loved the location and the wines.
We enjoy our Wine Club membership and have been very happy with the experiences we’ve had with friends and family. Morgan, the Tasting Room Manager, has been very helpful to make arrangements when we’ve had special occasions to celebrate. She doesn’t disappoint!
Pelio is a star among tasting rooms in Carmel Valley.
Our visits to Pelio are always a 5 star experience! My family, friends and visitors from out of town love the relaxing ambiance at Pelio. Great wine, beautiful setting and the staff, especially Morgan, are always attentive without being intrusive. Pelio is the only winery where I wanted to become a member and I'm so glad I did. They host wonderful, creative parties for members with different themes, music and their new wines. I highly recommend a visit to Pelio!
We have been members going on 2 years - pretty much since they opened the tasting room in the village. We stumbled upon the tasting room during a weekend at Bernardus and were pleasantly surprised to find a decent winery within reasonable driving distance and enjoy little day trips from San Jose. We have brought friends & family and just really enjoyed our time at Pelio. We loved the atmosphere, service, wine and felt that it was an approachable place that very much was not pretentious (we are members of wineries down in Los Olivos for these same reasons).
We made the 2 hour trip down with our 8mo old baby to celebrate my mom's birthday and, as always, picked up lunch at Jerome's (10/10 sandwiches - if you're in the area, you must give them a try!). We have brought in food every.single.time. My parents were running late due to traffic, our baby's nap time was approaching, we got settled and spread out lunch... when our server (not sure his name but he has definitely served us before) came over to tell us that we aren't allowed to bring in outside food. I'm sorry, what? It wasn't a problem the last time we visited and you served us, it wasn't a problem the previous time when your manager Morgan served us... not his fault, he was simply the messenger and I can't hold that against him. The hostess made a snide comment about how it's on the website. It's not, I looked:) it does say no outside food on their Tock but we never make reservations on Tock and simply email. We cancelled our wine club on the spot because of the way the entire situation was handled and how we were treated. The staff showed zero empathy and didn’t care at all. They were cold and rude. We packed everything up and headed out to find a much more accommodating place... thankfully Twisted Roots right across the street showed us unmatched hospitality and salvaged our day before we had to get on the road for the little one's nap. We ended up having a lovely time despite the experience at Pelio.
What was once a non pretentious place with decent Pinots, fun interiors and a vibey playlist has gotten a little too high and mighty (just a reminder, you're not Napa) and has lost a loyal member in the process.
Don't go to Pelio. Go to Twisted Roots instead - it's a much better experience and the wines (Petite Sirah, I'm looking at you) are good.
PS: they say their kid friendly but we definitely felt a shift in attitude towards us after we started bringing our baby (who is an exceptionally happy, adorable baby and does not cry or fuss, btw). I'm pretty sure we would have been treated differently if we didn't have our baby with us, which is a shame.
Beautiful space and really good wine! Flights of 3 with welcome wine
2 sister’s own the winery. And you can see the calm and stylish style they created. The location and architecture create a clean, relaxing, and modern experience.
Wine is smooth and refreshing creating wonderful tasting experience.
The wine, staff, and tasting venue were all great and inviting. I definitely will return for an evening visit.
The wine tasting experience here is definitely elevated. The place is decorated in Restoration Hardware and done beautifully.
They brought a really old concrete fountain from Italy and planted a fruit tree in it. Stunning fountain.
They have an old concrete watering trough converted to a fountain and I think she said it was from Turkey.
It's worth a visit just for the decorations and outdoor area. The wine isn't up to par yet though.

Great wine and even better people! Cannot wait to go back
Very beautiful space, friendly staff, my family and I look forward to coming back!
Absolutely loved my experience at Peilo Wines! The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, perfect for a relaxing afternoon. The staff was incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about their wines. I had the pleasure of tasting a Pinot Noir, which was simply delicious. Can't wait to come back and explore more of their selection.
Gorgeous tasting room, very attentive and knowledgeable staff. My favorite tasting of the whole trip!
I don’t normally leave reviews unless the service is worth it. This place was definitely worth it. The gal that helped me Morgan was professional, knowledgeable and really took great care of us. The establishment is beautiful and wine was delightful!
