Best breakfast spot in Carpinteria! Dog friendly huge plus for us! Great portions, exceptional service and delicious food! Just wish they had the biscuits the two days in a row we went easy parking at the lot by the train a big plus

Our visit to Esau's Cafe was on New Year's Day, adding a touch of excitement to our dining experience. Located just a few minutes walk from the beach, the cafe's prime location adds to its charm. We sampled a variety of dishes, including the Greek Italian with hash browns and rye toast, as well as the Southern waffles with fried chicken. While the food at Esau's was decent, it didn't quite reach the heights we were hoping for. The Southern waffles with fried chicken left something to be desired, as the chicken was a bit tough. However, the homemade jam provided a delightful contrast, offering a burst of flavor that complemented the dish perfectly. The hash browns, unfortunately, were a bit dry and seemed slightly burnt. Despite the mixed reviews on the food, we were thoroughly impressed by the top-notch service we received. The staff at Esau's Cafe were attentive and friendly, ensuring that our dining experience was enjoyable from start to finish. In summary, Esau's Cafe offers a convenient location and excellent service, making it a great spot for a meal near the beach. While the food may not have been perfect, the overall experience was still enjoyable, and we would consider returning in the future.

If you order takeout, they'll charge you the same price but give you less food just cuz it's not dine-in. Why?? Idk, they themselves didn't even have an answer! So ignore what's stated on the menu of what comes with each meal, because that's for "dine-in only". But prices WILL remain the same for less food and on top of that if you try to ask them to give you what comes with the meal as stated on the menu, they will try to charge you extra if it's takeout. Never heard of a restaurant being stingy with TOAST. Wish that the food orders, but more importantly the customer service, was actually CONSISTENT. Left a bad taste in my mouth, used to love this place, never coming back again. Wish I had never tipped them so well for every order. Ick.

Great food and friendly staff. Dog friendly restaurant the parking was easy worth driving down here from Santa Barbara. In Carpenteria and most of Santa Barbara there are more dogs than people! Every single couple brought their dog with them on vacation and the dogs are in every park, hotel and restaurant. Kind of a downer for people who don't want to be surrounded by others pets. Food was good

We stopped here for Brunch, and it did not disappoint. We tried a variety of menu items and a few different coffee selections. Would definitely go back.

My wife & I were looking for a spot to eat and came across Esau’s, I’m glad we did. The atmosphere was classic sit in dinner. I went with the Esau’s Deluxe Burger, it came with everything I love; guacamole, jalapeños, grilled mushrooms ❤️ our waitress Yadira was very friendly and attentive. We are not from the area but we are defiantly coming back here!
